I've read on team forums and team websites, and just word of mouth of a few teams getting new kits for next season, and also a quick rundown of what they will be like...Also heard some pics of them have been shown in Nike catologs? Just was wondering if anyone had any pictures for any of the teams or any more info on what I have already seen...Heres what I "heard", who knows what is true, thats why I posted... Columbus Crew - New Black kit, more yellow on the shoulders, and a better yellow that is the same yellow as their badge? Chicago Fire - New supplier in Puma, same style of kits though...? DC United - New 2nd Kit, like the one they wore in the 98 cup final except with red stripes vertically instead of the black...? MetroStars - Same but just a newer look...? Colorado Rapids - Blue, with green outlining of the logo and numbers...? Dallas Burn - New 2nd Kit..more of an off-white, sand color...same style...? Los Angeles Galaxy - 1st Kit, Forest Green is all I have heard...2nd Kit, Diagnal Green Stripe...? San Jose Earthquakes - Mostly the same just newer style...?
Well, if you've been reading these boards, then you'd know the E-quakes jersey will say "Sounders" on it next year.
hahahah, I can only hope their would be a team in Seattle next season...I'll be back in my hometown of olympia (60 min away) next year...would have season tickets...
There's some speculation amongst Revolution supporters that the Revs could be yet again getting a new supplier next season. Umbro doesn't seem to be in good shape at the moment and the Revs had a 2 year contract with them. Personally, I'd love to see Puma sign up with the club, or perhaps go in another direction entirely by going with Le Coq Sportif. The Magpie
There's a thread about it in the LAG boards. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=10949 Basically one of our jerseys is supposed to be the same style as the Inter and Barca away kits (they'res links to picks of them in the above thread).
Is this for sure? I would have thought by now Dun Dunce Counce would have sobered up and forgotten all about his Nick Sak-like power tripping. The Sporting Chicken makes some damn fine uniforms. I tried to order some Umbro hooped kits for my city league team 2 weeks ago and the Eurosport lady said Umbro was no longer shipping, the guy down at the soccer store said Umbro North America had declared bankruptcy (again) but this time it was worse.
What about Diadora and Lotto? I've always been a fan of their flair (not the Office Space type) in uniform design. The greater the diversity, the better. I'm sick of MLS uniforms looking far too similar, and too plain. I'd love to see some team go Barca/Blackburn style, some team use the Celtic hoops (or old Clash if you will ), etc. Having some originality helps build a distinct team idenitity instead.
Colorado will be supplied by Atletica Chicago by Puma Umbro is out of business (they locked the doors one night and no one could get in the next day) Also, look for puma to be the new ball supplier....kappa is pulling out of MLS.....
so the Revs are getting new kits. Nike seems out, Adidas looks like a good choice, or the Revs could grab Diadora or Puma. Not Atletica or Kappa please!
Mamadou Diallo would wear the bare minimum of flair anyway. I think MLS would encourage people to express themselves by weraing more than 17 pieces of flair.
Look at Drew over there, he has 37 pieces of flair. Now, you can just go ahead and wear the minimum amount, or you could choose to express yourself. Dude, bummer about Kappa, their stuff is probably my favorite...you don't know how many times people asked me why I have naked chicks on my pants back in 1998!
I nominate the color blue as the Jennifer Anniston of MLS uniforms "I heard she gets around dude...like a record!"
Yeah, and if you could remember to put a cover letter on the TPS reports from now on, that would be great. Didn't you get the memo?
Yeah, Michael Bolton was a nice name, until that no-talent ass-clown started making records and winning Grammies.
OK, fifteen is the minimum. I think the front offices are afraid of being the first guy to wear a pink shirt. Has anyone ever noticed that the first polos to go on sale are always the horizontally-striped ones? Everybody prefers the solids. The coolest sweatshirt I've ever seen is this black, hooded number the Bruins are selling. It only has the Hub logo on the left sleeve, and 'BOSTON' in gold, block letters across the chest. My-T-Sharp. Maybe black, crest on the sleeve, and 'COLUMBUS' in yellow across the chest. I mean, flair is fine. But maybe we should focus on what Americans like instead of what we like. If that makes sense.
I agree that is a dope sweatshirt. I like understated things too, but when everybody does plain uniforms it gets old. I'm not advocating a return to the designs of MLS '96 (nor even a one off throwback game), but it would be cool to see some more creativity. Every team can't have black, blue or red just because those are the most popular colors Look at the World Cup from this year. Every Nike team had the SAME exact design, just with different colors (and if Croatia was Nike, than the different pattern.)
