They set him up to fail....How the hell can you bring in a guy already knowing what formation he plays and how he plays and not get the players he needs? Their Scouts make Morrata look good.
What do you mean? What is the definition of success ? and failure ? If a club is a mid table team and a coach gets them to that point is it not a success ? Roma was not going to break the top 3 this year so mid table was the best that they were going to do.
Success is winning something, anything. Zeman hasn't won anything major. Sure he won Serie B, but nothing else.
He never had a chance at a big club. I can name several times where he's overachieved, though. Guys not coaching Juve, Inter and ACM don't when too many Scudetti. That doesn't mean they all suck, though.
Not sure why , but I have a funny feeling that José Mourinho will go back to Inter and Strama will be coaching Roma next year. Just a hunch.
Yeah, I would not be surprised at all if Strama is back in Roma next season. Mourinho to Inter seems like a stretch, but I'd love to see him return.
The good coaches figure out how to use the parts at his disposal instead of insisting on playing with tactics that may not suit his players and team.
I don't dislike Zeman, he has good ideas, but my position is along the lines of Falc's...gotta use what you have at your disposal and not try to force square blocks into round holes... + he got a lot of the parts he asked for prior to the season starting. No one has really acknowledged that maybe his system isn't consistent because he mostly focuses on one side of the pitch?
Zeman is a great coach who had the misfortune of coaching a loser team like Roma. If Zeman has horses like Cavani and Marek, we'd be 15 points up on Juve right now
LOL, Gigi Simoni won the same trophy and was fired by Massimo Moratti on the plane on his way back from receiving the award.
