He called out American players for not being as patriotic as the Canadians while generally behaving like a buffoon otherwise. He purposely burned the USMNT bridge. Don’t rebuild it for him.
But that's not really true. Marsch is the ex we've all had who just can't let it go. He brings up his ussf beef completely unprompted. I can believe that the USSF is run by buffoons and still say that Marsch should never ever get another sniff at the coaching job. These are not mutually exclusive. In fact, there's plenty of evidence for both.
Garber is stepping down as MLS commissioner right.....is he looking for work? In all seriousness, nobody wants an SD to upset the youth apple-cart, I think we see Poch continue as NT manager with some control over the U23/BNT coaches, Maybe Hayes gets similar control on the WNT side pending results of next summer. Everybody else just quietly moves on and lets the youth side continue doing what they do....
Yeah, lots of tidbits today. On the other hand, I would be a little surprised if he signed on again for the full four years. He just seems like a club manager to me, but I can't say I really know. Maybe he has learned to love the life?
With Klopp now with Germany and Pep in the wind it seems his a lot of his coaching contemporaries are weary of the top club jobs. I wondered if he would want to go back and I bet he's thinking real hard if he wants to go back in that grinder. He also has seen there is a lot of youth players bubbling up here and maybe he thinks he'd rather shepherd them into the team than the alternative.
I'm looking at the comments on the BBC news story about Poch being fired by Spurs. BluenoseB24 19:43 19 Nov 2019 Ridiculous Rob 67 19:43 19 Nov 2019 Wow !!. What a dumb move Mr Opinion 19:43 19 Nov 2019 They could live to regret this.... They were probably right.
If somebody started a poll, I guess the majority of the board would agree with both of those BBB statements.
If Marsch is a dickhead and Poch is a nice guy and a good coach, it still doesn't mean that Jesse isn't a better programm builder, and that's what we need.
The complete bullshit about how we shouldn’t rehire Poch because we will constantly be hearing about the best clubs and national teams in the world wanting him is circulating hard again; Doyle, Bogart, Conrad, McIntyre, everyone really. ******** right off. Going back to managers no one has ever or will ever want is the stupidest take I’ve ever heard.
So, what do we know about Adam Helfrich, the COO of USSoccer who joined in January 2025 from Deloitte? He seems to be pulling the strings along with Cone and Batson. And does he have a brother who coaches the 10th best team in MLS?
I heard a suggestion on SiriusXM they should combat the temptation by guaranteeing Poch the next World Cup, I guess giving him a free pass on regional tournaments. I didn’t like that idea too much.
OMFG. Doyle just literally said we shouldn’t rehire Poch because it’s not his dream job. ANYONE WHOSE DREAM JOB IS USMNT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FFS. This was on the IAS show with Bogart and Tab. wtf are we doing? To the point above about the Deloitte exec Helfrich, the suits have decided again, no more soccer people making soccer decisions. They will discontinue the position of sporting director. Helfrich, Batson and Cone are the brain trust. Straight from Bogart: Let’s bring back Sunil and Cordero while we are at it.
Pochettino just needs to imitate Robbie Keane. Every club he ever manages should be his dream job because it’s the club he supported as a lad. Works a treat.
