3? not just those 3 but also the likes of Tevez , Palacio and to some degree Messi. The irony of the 05-07 generation is that they always scores and capable of fighting all the way to the final. 3 consecutive finals which include a WC final is the proof... 4 finals for Messi. Its really sad that we only needs to put one of those chances away and that's it.

Chile did not score either in 240 minutes. It took Germany almost 120 minutes to finally score... so wth we're doing with our chances in 360 minutes of those finals? can defence gets any better than that ? it sucks that a team that suppose to have best attackers on the planet, its our forwards that has been choking while our defence has been solid. Even in recent shootout, Romero saved Chile first shot and still wasnt enough.

On paper it seems like brilliant defending and inept attacking for 360 minutes. However in reality I think part of it is an ultra conservative and defensive mentality during those finals. Not just by Argentina but also by their opponents. So there was less work for the defense to do. Meanwhile the forwards had very few opportunities. Of course they still should've scored on some of those opportunities but they only missed like one clear chance per game plus a few half chances.

3 one vs one chances in 2014 finals. In recent finals, Aguero has 3 chances , Messi 2-3 chances(1 from freekick), Pipita with his typical 1 vs 1 miss... probably some other chances I couldnt remember. How many chances you would get in final? 15?

A final has been mostly defensive from WC 1990 and onward. Brazil was ultra defensive in 2007, committed 45 fouls... still scored 3 times. See the difference there ? light and day. Our forwards always choked at that stage. Mercado has been great, Mascherano has been best DMF in last few major tournaments while Romero keep pulling 1 vs 1 stop and stopped 2 penalties recently too.

Also its not just those 3 finals but Argentina rarely conceided a goal since 2011 tournament.

Slight exaggeration. 3 one -on-one in 2014 final? I only recall one: the Higuain miss. 80 minutes later there was a very good chance by Palacio, but not really "one on one". By the time he controlled the ball Neuer was right in his face. Not to mention one clear chance every 80 minutes doesn't reallly disprove my point especially since one of them came from a defensive tactic (bad back pass). And Germany's best/only chance before the goal came off a corner. Meh.

Messi chance was as easy as Burruchaga chance in 1986 final. Also, he scored from freekick in WC and Copa but not even close from scoring in final itself.

Greece won by playing ultra defensive tactic like Brazil, but even more defensive. They still found the net. That's what Argentina player cant do since 2004. Scores in freakin final.

Dont think Bauza will use Masche as DM anymore. He prefers two ball carriers as his DMs not a traditional ball winner like Masche. Will be interesting to see who he calls up and how his team plays. Not a bad choice since im a Sabella fan and this guy has a similar style.

I also assume guys like Enzo, Perreyra will be called up again.
