Other players have already disputed that over the last 10 years; Geoff Cameron, GAM, DeMarcus Beasley, Jermaine Jones, and Herc Gomez all come to mind. THEY WERE ALSO THERE ON THE TEAM. Lets be clear when you say "coaching" the players. Klinsmann almost never ran the training ground sessions. That was Martin and then Andi Klinsmann almost never ran individual instruction sessions. That was all the assistants. Klinsmann almost never ran the tactical sessions. That was Andi. Klinsmann almost never ran the opponent detailed strategy. That was Andi and the region scout.
(except plural... maybe up to 5) On the other side we've got - Philip Lahm - Sporting News (22 sources lol) - The Ringer | The Ringer - Tim Howard probably others I'm forgetting... Note how the text is blue... those are LINKS!! Thanks, added.
You could tell he was fake coach. During games, he would forget that he was the coach and instead he just watched the game like another paying fan.
My lord, 11 years have passed and you're STILL misrepresenting the contents of that Straus article. Bugs you how much he got right about Klinsmann's failings, doesn't it THHF???
Did Lahm ever play for the USMNT, Check out links to his mea culpa and giving credit to Klinsmann on German TV after they won the world cup, posted on the Klinsmann Coaching thread. Check the original sporting news thread and the players saying thank you after Klinsmann was fired thread. You will see the quotes, and links to the Behind The Crest Videos. None of that will change your mind much like Orange Jesus Lemmings, facts don't matter.
Add Toni Kroos to that list https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/37446611/toni-kroos-says-learned-jurgen-klinsmann
But asked if Klinsmann played a major role in Germany's development that led to winning the World Cup, Kroos said: "It's not true." But what does Toni Kroos know right?
No. The conversations has been already had. If I look back in those threads I told you to check I suspect it has been had with you included. Nothing is going to get LD on the WC2014 roster. Buddhists would call this reincarnation and The GoBerhalter lemming sucked me into it.
You are aware that Kroos was a 18 yo player at Bayern who Klinsmann did not believe would play over players like Schweinsteiger, Van Bommel and Muller so he was loaned out Leverkusen. Oh, at the same time Klinsmann persuded Bayern to bring in a young a MF named Landon something or other. The rest is history.
So exactly what was Juergen Klinsmann being paid to do other than being a vibesy figurehead? Oh, wait, that was what Sunil wanted. Carry on then. EDIT - we really need Poch to officially be announced so we can close this thread. The less I hear about Klinsmann, the better.
I hear you, but I am so tired of the constant back and forth of MLS v Euro players. And American born v foreign born "Americans". Let's just bring the best ones regardless of where they play....and if a foreign born "American" is the best then bring him too. There are so many agendas out there it is sickening. Hopefully Poch blows all that up.
