Yes we know and are debating it. All newsbots save 1 are in their own forums and do not appear on the HP.
But they do appear in the "New Posts" search. I personally don't really care about "R"s since I accept personal responsibility for reading one of the biggest soccer forums in the world, but I also accept the fact that not giving away "R"s is a tradition/courtesy around here. When I was a moderator, I spent more time editing leading thread titles with phrasing or emoticons that gave away results "Where do we go from here " - that sort of thing. The headlines are much the same problem.
I go to "new posts" and I see this headline "Ferguson rues Giggs miss". The implication of that thread title is that the result could have gone the other way had the shot went in. As a result, this newsbot thing is like a retarded newbie who starts his own threads with results on titles. Isn't there supposed to be a 24-hour blackout on news/results, or is it just in the ManUtd forum?
But none of the PTB are addressing the bot issue in that thread and we all know that it's the bots that inspired that thread in the first place. Why won't you guys actually address the issue: The results thing is only an issue because of the bots. And a side-issue: Most people think the bots are lame. Why not have a poll testing what we think about the bots?
I mean the bot announcement specifically says it's a test. After 2-3 weeks that's EXACTLY what we're gonna do.
The Bot has been around long enough now to know the rules - no posting results without the R - i demand he gets a yellow card
