Wasserman Media Group acquired the soccer, rugby and marketing divisions of SFX Sports Group, Europe, which includes the agents for stars Michael Owen, Andriy Shevchenko and Steven Gerrard. The soccer division, which also represents Alan Shearer, Jamie Carragher, Jermaine Jenas and Wes Brown, was called the Marquee Group before it was bought by SFX Entertainment in 1998. Wow, that's interesting. Looks like Wasserman Media group is making a big push into the soccer market. Casey Wasserman has done some interesting things and scored major TV rights with Arena Football, it will be interesting to see how involved he gets with soccer. BH www.evenison.com
