The first part of post is helpful, if non-specific. Proceeding to next step of recovery process after World Cup. The second part is hard to interpret - the operative words- “does not…mean he will be ready to play for ….another month.”?? Then what does it mean?
If his rehab is anything like mine from the Achilles tear, rehab gets aggressive when you move from doing stretches and static lifts to treadmills, bikes, and weights. Pete (still hasn't gotten the left calf to be the same size as the right one, though)
Waiting for an official announcement. But since you asked. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/robert-lewandowski-watch-2026-this-time-we-mean-it.2139156/
Oh boy. I looked over his timeline and that's more than Russian propaganda. Incredibly racist garbage pretty much non-stop.
More likely Lewy saw the post and got upset he took away from what was supposed to be his moment announcing the move.
Presuming CFII, but putting here to share club roster building activity I don’t have this one completely confirmed yet, but I believe it will be a double signing: Chris Morales (‘10) would be the other player.Morales is a technical and cerebral holding midfielder. He’s a USYNT regular too that was just named to the MLS Next All-Star game roster. https://t.co/4P1bxWE6bU pic.twitter.com/xCkeC6M5iH— USMNTProspects (@ProspectsUsmnt) June 24, 2026
My question is, if we sign him, who do we move? I feel like we'd have so many CM's then. Loan Oregel or would we try and trade someone?
Expensive but very good. He would need to be a DP immediately unless Fire does an InterMiami-type deal and somehow carries him as a Max TAM for six months interim period. Lewandowski signing puts us at 3 DPs so ……. Also would need come up with a roster spot now, not sure how easy or how hard that would be. Would need an international spot immediately. Depending on answers to above questions, would be a need for GAM, not sure how much. Sale of current player at a profit could generate Sales GAM. Not sure who that would be. As you can see, Lewandowski acquisition is comparatively easy. Goretzka after Lewy would be a lot more complicated deal. In GGG and Joe we trust-they probably already have a plan in place if there is a serious attempt at signing him in progress.
Generally speaking the U22s are 'investments' and we have more of them than we can tag in a 3+3...and even though we currently have cap room to untag one, it is not great for salary budget management, especially when trying to pull a InterMiami type MAxTAM deal. As much as I hope we hold onto Mbo, he's clearly going to generate offers. The fullbacks haven't stayed healthy to generate a lot of interest. And then there is Dje, who would be the one that would lose playing time to Goretzka (presuming Franco and Saletros are also getting minutes). The other options are going to be 'valuable' players...Bamba and MHS are 'marketable'...really hope Cuypers and Zinck are not considered, as they are our current heartbeat and would love to see them play with RL9&G.
I am concerned his body cannot hold up anymore. Has had an injury filled past, but at his best he's a physically dominant box to box midfielder
I think the key word is ‘past’…like 4to5yrs ago…he seems to be in solid shape now…2349min this season.
As I mentioned in earlier post, Transfermarkt has listed him for 43 “injuries” during his career although many were short term and minor in nature. Recently (2yr),slighter fewer than most of career.
Only Bamba ( or Cuypers) would provide the needed DP slot. The ongoing budget charge of an untagged Dithejane would be only about $660,000 per Dynastats. And Radojevic would be less than $800,000. Not exactly budget busters but meaningful amounts which would need to be addressed one way or another.
Not this again. He has played 24 or more Bundesliga matches in 9 of the past 10 seasons. He has played 38 or more in all competitions in 8 of the past 10. He has had some major injuries but has been healthy the last several seasons. Thank you. Several were for two days or so.
