Sebastian Staszewski stated to Weszlo.com that at the moment the most concrete club regarding a potential transfer involving Robert Lewandowski is Chicago Fire. Staszewski also mentioned that the Americans are currently the most concrete and very determined. Janusz Michallik, a football journalist from America who knows the Fire's coach, also spoke about this determination. On Weszlo.com, Staszewski denied recent media reports that the American club withdrew from the idea of acquiring Lewandowski.

Not sure why, but was having trouble finding that article. Some interesting thoughts but, of course, nothing concrete. Thank you.
Twitter is showing teams in Italy and England have the lead in signing him. Nothing about the fire or MLS. I still think he'll take the one year deal at Barca. I think he would've been better in Lod's spot last night.
Well, there's your problem. Unless it is from an official reporter or official team site, I would not put any stock in that. Sebastian Staszewski is Robert Lewandowski's biographer, so probably a bit more reliable than a twitter rando. What teams in England? I am on English news sites every day and have never read a story in the English media about any English team looking to sign Lewandowski. Edit: See below. There are a few unsubstantiated rumors, I guess. If he wants to retire in a year, that makes sense. If he wants to play more than one more year, it does not. That is not saying much, especially for a player who has scored 119 goals (189 matches) for Barcelona and 344 goals (375 matches) for Bayern. One does not have to "think" that Robert Lewandowski would be better than a decent journeyman MLS player from Finland. It is an objective fact. Edit: There is this "article" today https://www.sportbible.com/football...-premier-league-transfer-news-598089-20260503 If anyone is taking Peter Crouch as anything authoritative, well, I do not really have a response. Also, https://www.si.com/soccer/transfer-...n-palmer-stance-alisson-agrees-liverpool-exit Chelsea have formally expressed an interest in signing Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski when his contract expires this summer. (Source: Fichajes) Manchester United have identified Robert Lewandowski as a key summer addition once his Barcelona contract expires in June and are stepping up their pursuit. The veteran forward will turn 38 in August and is viewed as a mentor for the club’s youthful attack, especially on Champions League nights. Chelsea have also been credited with an approach for the Pole. (Source: Fichajes)
I'm not really sure which ones are really credible or not, but I'll take your word for it about Sebastian Staszewski and glad that the fire no longer being interested isn't true. I thought Tom Bogert was fairly reputable though.
I would think it is up to Big Bob to make a decision. The Fire made the offer, it is up to him to take it or another opportunity. I'm not worried about any rumors until he is signed or retired. I'm sure GGG has backup/other plans anyway.
If you were referring to Bogart, that should have been made clear. He is usually pretty reliable. Likely.
Lewy is not going to the middle east. That might be a ruse to raise offers. I also think Serie A is more wishful thinking for Lewy fans in Europe. I don't think Juventus has any appeal. I think Inter might, but they're not interested. I don't know where he ends up, but I'm sure we're a top option.
"He would certainly feel right at home there, given the large number of Poles living in Chicago," says Acosta, speaking about Robert Lewandowski’s potential move to his former club. "The city itself has a lot to offer—it is both attractive and diverse. Infrastructure developments—including the construction of a new training facility and stadium—also make this an appealing destination. I think it’s a great place to rediscover the joy of the game, especially in the twilight of one’s career. Many world-class stars have headed to the U.S. toward the end of their playing days, and I don’t think they regret it. However, it is worth noting that MLS is no longer a 'retirement league.' That label stuck to the competition a dozen or so years ago, but things have changed significantly since then. Playing in the United States certainly wouldn't be a 'walk in the park' for Lewandowski."
Lots of valid thoughts here. Was he responding to a question or did he just decide we needed to hear from him? His last comment is telling.
Sounds like Lod will be out for a while...will be interesting to see who steps up. Lod: OUT, facial fractures (broken bones, eye damage) (YIKES)Barroso remains out, but Chris Mueller is fully available and could feature on Saturday#cf97 #vamosfire #mls #RBNY— CHGO Fire (@CHGO_Fire) May 7, 2026
Lod joins Franco on the “ Not available until after World Cup ( at least) “ list. Another instance confirming two well-known facts. 1) There are reasons why teams need 15-16 “starters” rather than 11 and 2) There is a need for the rules that protect players from getting hurt. Wishing Lod a speedy, complete recovery.
Well the rumor that is out there today is that we are offering $15mill euros a year with a chance with bonues to be $20 mill a year. His agent is meeting with Barca to discuss his future I think next week. So we'll see what happens.
