Bittersweet. I hope the USMNT can keep him around.

I am not sure he will be a DP but if there is that much interest in him and he wants another salary increase, it appears likely. High TAM would be likely minimum.
Hope GGG has something in mind for D’Avilla if Eneli is acquired!
But the terms do matter, surprised you would say otherwise.

The point I'm making is we would never sign him as a DP, so if he is signed it will not be as a DP. Maybe another club signs him as a DP, all I know is we surely will not.

I saw a few videos this morning from the Chivas fans' perspectives and they seemed incredibly enthusiastic about Gutierrez' imminent signing.
I have avoided commenting too much, since there has been no official announcements, but with him being spotted down there and the noise ramping up, I think it might be a good move for all concerned.

  6. Guti's USMNT ship has probably sailed and the Tri ship is about to pull up the ramp.

That would be a selfish mistake from Pochettino.

‘Pull up the ramp’ = ‘close the door’???

Curious why you think the ramp might not be lowered…

  11. He could be a part of El Tri, but not until after the WC. But there's a lot of younger players at his position with equal or better resumes.

I don’t see it that way, partially due to the change of coaches at USMNT - you’d have to think that him not getting capped previously had something to do with him not being a good fit for GGGs system. Sure, it’s curious that he didn’t get time since then, but with a new coach and the team already qualified for the WC, I feel like we’ve had fewer opportunities to cap players than usual. Also feel like he is much closer to cracking the USMNT than Mexico, to me personally Mexico’s seems like a harder lineup to crack for his skill set.

He was also injured at camp cupcake and missed his chance.

I see it as a mistake for Pochettino to not get it done, unless it was calculated. Maybe he wasn't injured and quietly made it clear he would jump ship but that seems highly unlikely. Seems more like Poch missed our opportunity since he's a coach for one cycle and not worried about the entire program. Short sighted.

I would not blame Guti for trying to get on Mexico NT...but I also do not think he will make it there either at his position/skill set. Shame either country. The cusp individual. I doso very much hope he has a great career down there though.

Actually still have 12 internationals. Somehow, his loan status meant he was not counted as an international. Need four, less green card(s), at least.
Bamba, Barroso, Cuypers, D’Avilla, Franco, Glasgow, Mbokazi, MHS, Radojevic, Saletros, Waterman, Zinck

"Somehow"? This is how it has always worked, it would be ludicrous to count an international slot against a player who is not on your roster.

You need to check the official MLS Roster Profile which lists Koutsias on Senior Roster. Maybe before you post. Glasgow also.

I was using version released 9-26 dated as of 9-19 which is last one I saw. Check for later version.

Cassano situation not resolved yet either.

  22. I always forget Waterman is Canuckistanian.

  23. He's a Fire II international. Croci-Torti seems to rate him so he may stay on there at least to the summer.

That has nothing to do with international roster slots. He was on the roster since he has a Fire contract, but he does not count against the numbers because he is loaned out. This has been this way in every league since before time.

I have a faint hope that the recent announcement that FIFA would allow MLS to treat Canadian clubs like domestics might result in MLS clubs not counting them as international. Not exactly sure what announcement said and what it ultimately will mean.
