There are very few farms in the US that are 100% Waygu and not, as you say, cross bred. You are correct that most of what is called Waygu is cross bred and not necessarily any better than any other beef.

There are a few in Wisconsin.
One, Schindler Farms, is about 25 minutes west of my house. Haven't been there yet, but will probably give it a shot this summer.

What's the point of a Young DP? What does that open up for us?

In order to have 3 U22s, a team must meet one of two tests for 3rd DP: 1)must be YDP Or
    2) DP player’s (pre-buydown) salary is less than Max TAM Amount of $1,683,750.
If test not met, only one U22 allowed. ( unknown- what happens if you already have three U22s?-guessing League refuses to roster new DP.)

I think the result is ‘full salary budget impact’ for the 2 that can’t be U22 designated (any longer).

Guessing Guti and Koutsias are paid less than Fede…so Fede remains out 1 U22 and the other 2 have their salary hit the budget.

guti+ Koutsias combined is probably less costly than TAM or DP Gimenez

Full budget impact for 2 U22s would be another possible result for failure to meet either test but …….
Gimenez should meet test 2) so three U22s should still be allowed.($1,633,333)

We have Shaq, Cuypers and Gimenez occupying DP slots. If we buy down Gimenez we get the slot back during the summer

If the third DP is below max TAM he can occupy the slot while keeping all 3 U22s

This was always my strategy, hence the still moving fish in Hong Kong. Usually I end up happily surprised. Good haggis is delicious! 3 major exceptions were balut, natto and St Louis pizza. Dog is the only food I've ever refused to try.

Uhm...Gimenez is now a TAM player not a DP. They redid his contract last season (or before last season started). We only have 2 DP's signed with Torres gone.

They used the DP tag to free up the TAM to use on other players (Souquet) to get in under the cap.

I understand the trickery but to me that means this was not an A set of moves. Some players are not worth the contracts they are on in regards to cap hit to have made us have to utilize a DP spot to 'free up' money elsewhere rather then on a Big Time DP player. That is a waste. However, If...they have the opportunity to sign another 'actual' DP...they apparently can still bring Gimenez down. So I guess that is good.

I think it is another indicator that even utilizing all the $2.3 million “extra” GAM from the sales of Slonina and Duran, it is still a tight window for salary budget compliance. They need to move a couple players for salary budget purposes and to obtain roster spots.

It would have been better to dump Gimenez.

Appears like a couple more disposals are contemplated. He could be one of them.

wouldn’t “open” anything for us this season, but if Gaston were to get bought down we could pay a good young player a lot more than Gaston is being paid

Sales of Gimenez and Teran would free up $1,033,750 salary cap ($1,983,000 real money),
a YDP slot and 2 roster spots. The replacements could be a YDP in area of need
and Glasgow for a salary budget hit of < $300,000 or salary cap gain of >$750,000.
Would need international spot(s). It would also generate several million in sale proceeds,
some of which might be convertible to GAM.

Or maybe TAM but otherwise True! Most appropriate if they do not plan any more activity until mid-season.

I had a piece of nigiri that was still moving. My body acted with the fight or flight reaction but ultimately I was able to eat it.
