I suppose at this point I simply have no faith we will even get a single one of our collective wishes.

perhaps. Not sure who looks at this stuff. Sometimes I wonder if the “Braintrust” does not know what to do or is just unable to do it. I know, I know- probably both. On the slight chance they just do not know, this exercise might help. If nothing else, it is something to do on a cold day that is not destructive to our health.

    1) CB
    2) Box to Box midfielder
    3) Striker

Let’s pretend Teran doesn’t leave, Czichos is already showing some age. We need a solid 2-3 for a full season. We also need a replacement once either of our current CBs leaves. Last, I feel like Czichos can run a defense, but I’m not sure he can run a spine anymore and Teran definitely can’t.

That all makes sense, but right back is a more immediate concern.

Not exactly the same but some similarities.

I'd contest a) any doubt about Rafa "still being able to run a spine"...especially with all the "Shaqiri just needs better around him" chatter that has been common and b) that Omsberg and Pineda are not "adequate" depth behind Rafa and Carlos.

The right back situation is "not good", and left back is multiple steps lower than as our CB situation.

    Summary (kinda). Current Needs
#1- a world class striker, clearly
#2- #6 —lack of agreement- in no particular order: winger,(#8)CM,RB,CB,LB
    #7- defensive/backup striker- Completed
What did we learn? Not much. A DP9 and 2 or more of 5 positions- best available

Despite some variation in feedback, the clear issue to resolve is GF...36 is/was woeful.
The early 'glory days' and the 2017-2019 Basti years are the only 50+ GF seasons...gotta crank up the FIRE!

My wishlist: Piotr Zieliński, Tymoteusz Puchacz, Seko Fofana and Rafa from Benfica. I think all players can be had for different reasons.

So, we won't have to worry about the extra 100k,then?
In five MLS seasons his season high goal output is...FOUR.

14 goals in 123 league games for NYRB. If we have a 90 game season next year, he has a shot.

In that case, I hope we have to pay additional GAM. $10,000 per goal is about 98% less on a per goal basis, based upon current payroll and current goal production. Currently paying over $550,000 per goal.

    Math is hard.
It would not be "$10,000" per goal, of course.

Please explain. I am fairly sure an additional $100,000 for 10 goals is $10,000 per goal. Only if he hits 10,of course, and still only $100,000 if he scores 20. However, for simplified discussion purposes, it would be that. Or is this some kind of “New Math”?

You are fairly sure to be wrong. You are not using "New Math," you are simply incorrect.

First, it would be $100,000 in ADDITION to his salary and the transfer fee already paid, not $100,000 for 10 goals. To argue otherwise is ridiculous.

Second, the post said we are at $550,000 per goal. That is also incorrect.

Finally, claiming this $100,000 is "98% less on a per goal basis' is a ludicrous assertion and has nothing to do with your first comment.

No point to comment any further for "simplified discussion purposes" when the underlying premise makes no sense.

As you said “ already paid”, even if zero goals. I would expect Fire FO and most fans to be very happy if he scores 10 or more goals as a backup and would gladly pay an additional $100,000 one-time fee increase. My $550,000 per goal is admittedly simplification for dramatic purposes. However if you divide total payroll by total goals last season, the per goal figure approximates that number. Lighten up a little!

Seing some Twitter chatter about Kenneth Paal…

Don’t know that much about him, but looking at Sofascore and such doesn’t indicate clear upgrade at LB…I mean he does start for QPR, but maybe there are offers for Miggy and it’s just backfill plans?

digging into formations played, he is clearly a LB but has a good number of starts at LM in 3-4-3…which would indicate expectations of participation in the attack

    wrong…incorrect…..ridiculous….incorrect……ludicrous…..no sense…..
No way to have a conversation. My original comment related to add-on fee.
    Lighten up!

So ‘the funny’ is getting reactions from anyone not in the cabal?

  25. Yep. They're getting badgered for info on signings when there appears to be none. That's their fightback. I went with the "chatter" too.
