Some people had him slotted into the starting lineup months ago! :whistling:
Doubt anyone thought it was a realistic possibility.

You'd think we could get Renato Steffen from Lugano for half the season.

  11. Why would he want to leave Lugano? He won't be a DP here, so with the money the same, why?

I'm more pissed Marcel Hartel left St. Pauli and went to freaking stlouis town as a DP. I guess he didn't like the idea of plying in the Bundesliga, even on a side likely to drop back down.

Good to see some of the Fire II players getting a few minutes on the field. A strong team would have MLS Next and “bottom of roster” players good enough that they are threatening the “backups” for playing time.
Would sure like to see this on the Fire!

    Agreed.

What would be very good would be some "rumors" about new players joining (and leaving?!?) the team.

    Even the crickets are silent.

I was pretty unimpressed with Shannon and his prospects to ever make the senior squad

  15. Shannon was decent enough Sunday, but he's a longshot to be a first team player. Konnicks is better.

There were things he could have done better but at least he did not totally embarrass himself, which is possible when inserted with little preparation into the back line.

might be a laidback personality but there were moments where he looked like he was just half-assing it out there

One rumor says the crickets are staging a silent protest opposing Heitz continuing
    to conduct roster activities.

23 days until next match for Fire. Should allow at least partial integration of
    the 2 newly acquired DPs.
Wait…l almost forgot… no new DPs. Guess Heitz forgot, too!
    So disappointed nobody wants Shaqiri!

This is the type of player we should target.
He's 23, scored 18 goals in the Czech league last season and is a full Czech international.

Sources: Viktoria Plzen reject bids from Real Salt Lake for Czech int'l attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc (23).

Sources add he is one of a few active targets for DP attacker. Final stages of search.

Is it time to start the 2025 thread? The roster sucks so bad no team is even willing to take on anyone who is within 6 months of the end of contract.

I can't remember outside of Rafa and Shaqiri, whose contract expires at the end of the year? I know it has been somewhat proven that continuity of the roster is a good sign of success in MLS, but I'm expecting a big turnover for 2025.

Others- Herbers, Arigoni, Gutman, Dean, Richey, Gal, Omsberg, Casas ( I think this is a correct list)

Correction- delete Gutman from list. He is signed through 2026 w/ option for 2027.
