Yes, but we have not started a Delusion Thread in years.
Frankly, most of our "optimism" could be categorized as delusions.

He was not initially a good locker room guy. He was dismissive of the team and MLS and was benched. He ultimately turned it around and realized he liked it here but was on the outs and never made it back.

    I’d still take him.

Do we have any indication that he wants to return to Fire after being dumped by them?

This is interesting, in that it implies the Loons (who have discover rights) have decided to target better than Ui-Jo…and CF97 is ‘ok with him’

No, but we do know he didn’t want to leave.

FWIW, my understanding (via hearsay from someone that was in that locker room) is there are (at least) 2 sides to that story…and that there are other personalities (also no longer here) that *benefited* from the storyline you shared.

Anyway…at this point, I’d be shocked if the club would recognize the opportunity and act on it.

Yes, all of this needs to be taken with a grain of salt and handled carefully as people’s livelihoods and careers are impacted by rumors.

Hmmm, dismissive of the team and MLS, you say.

So, Stojanovic is a long time poster on BigSoccer?!?;):ROFLMAO:

I wonder which one. I have my suspicions. :whistling::whistling:

Color me less then impressed thus far this off season in acquisitions. Especially for the sales that have been made.

I agree with your comment and apologize for not phrasing my question more carefully. It would have been better stated as “Is he likely to be a positive locker room influence on young players? I was not looking for negatives, only the possibility of a positive which would increase his value to the team.

I think he would be a positive addition but that’s just speculation.

His prior performance here, in an insane culture/chemistry, would indicate an ability to find a way to contribute...in the best way...scoring. And not just his quick trigger bangers, the connecting play.

I don't know, he's not the most athletic of mover, but despite that squad's "messy chemistry", it was weird his performance did not appear valued/appreciated.

Just a couple of highlights remembering Luka's field sense, passing, and finishing ability

BANGER https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/luka...r-caps-chicago-fire-fc-midfielder-s-career-ye The top spin dip on this ball  Dude was subbed in the 86th min and scored in the 93rd! #makethemostofyourmintues

I mean $370k for that? Yes please...if not, bring better please.

Silly, right, but comparing Luka's stats to Shaq's...hmm...whoa...

    $370k, 1347min, 15 starts, 8G(in play), lead the team with 0.53G/90, 1.20 SOT/90 & 2.3G-xG, 5 positions.

    $8mil, 2252min, 27starts, 3G(in play), (8th place on team with) 0.28G/90, 0.48 SOT/90 & 0.4G-xG (including the pks), pretty much "the 10".

Lone "argument", Shaqiri had 7A to Luka's 1...but production/minutes, ability for moments and diverse roles...plus money....would suggest a value measurement is not close.

    Shaq needs to StepTFU.

Soccer is not MLB baseball, and this is not “moneyball” with Billy Beane. Yes I would like Shaqiri to contribute more, but comparing Shaqiri to Luka is hilarious.

    I started with ‘silly, right’…

But it certainly is interesting, as they are/were generally tasked with the same type of output…Luka just scored a lot more frequently

I would have loved to have seen Shaqiri play with Frankowksi.
