Portsmouth coach Paul Groves has given the strongest indication that manager Avram Grant will remain in charge at the club.

After two players were put up for sale behind his back, Grant threatened to walk away from the south coast club but Groves said the Israeli was committed to the club and was working towards getting some positive results.

"Avram has already shown his commitment to the club," said Groves.

"He is being positive and working very hard to try and get some results. We are not in this for professional pride. We are in this to win matches."

The comments came after Pompey went down 2-0 to Manchester City which kept them rooted to the bottom of the league table.
