Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is considering a summer bid for on-loan striker Martyn Waghorn.

Waghorn has been a big hit at the Walkers Stadium this season and his 12 goals have propelled the Foxes into the play-offs.

The 20-year-old is set to return to parent club Sunderland once the campaign comes to an end and Black Cats boss Steve Bruce admits he wants him in the first-team squad next year.

"It is a loan deal until the end of the season - however long that is for us. Then after that who knows?" Pearson said.

"I don't want to rule anything out but, at this moment in time, I don't want to spend any time talking about it either.

"There is no point talking about it now as we are not there yet.

"There will be a time to address the situation but that time is not now because we have what we hope will be three more games to play this season."
