Burnley boss Brian Laws has told Bolton Wanderers counterpart Owen Coyle he hurt a lot of people at Turf Moor.

Laws takes Burnley to the Reebok tonight.

He said: "Owen has left a good football club and gone on to another. But the move has hurt a lot of people.

"He knows that. If the supporters of Burnley didn't care, they wouldn't say a jot about him or mention his name. The fact they are angry tells you what they thought about him. He was a massive success here and I think Owen should take it as a massive compliment.

"We have an objective to stay in the Premier League and, whether Owen was in charge of Bolton or not, it would still be a huge game.

"The matches against teams around us are vital, plus it is a local derby. These games are more of a scrap and we have to get that mentality in there."
