Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has missed out on a move to Sunderland due to a collar bone injury. The Mirror says Kirkland is facing a month on the sidelines with a damaged collar bone - putting an end to a bid by old boss Steve Bruce to take him to Sunderland. Unlucky Kirkland picked up the knock in training and X-rays confirmed that the problem will keep him out of Roberto Martinez's side for several games.
