I volunteer to help them strengthen their core..............if you know what I mean.
...That's a derivation of "Tubing" by doctors ("Totally Unnecessary Breast Exam")... The oldest trick in the book.
Trainer: "Before I do this procedure, I am going to have to num your breasts."
Trainer: num num num num num num num
I got the assistants job and burning and bigdong are the
"trainers" we still need a massuse and equipment manager....anyone want to apply....
I would be more than happy to manage their equipment.
I'm setting the over/under for this league at 2 seasons.
The Super Ladies United of Texas Soccer: Sponsored by Hooters Restaurants of North Texas
Carlos Ruiz is now the coach......
This is the first post about Carlos and Hooters in quite a while that was actually funny. Well done sir.
I'll take the under
They need at least 3 more teams in order to start the league. Surely they won't begin with 5 teams.
I'll take the over.
I'm taking the over, teasing the points and parlaying the whole first season hoping to make a big score.
In 1969 the NASL had 5 teams....
I Don't remember the year, but the USL started with 5 small indoor arena teams.
what do you think the name of the team will be?
FCD Pink; because they'll play on Dr Pink field.
Its amazing. As a league and a sport that is fighting for legitimacy, how many people are ready, willing and able to slam the same sport. Is it that hard to conceptualize the idea that maybe, at the very least, let it be so that you don't impinge whatever possible positives might come from such an effort?
Or is that thinking too big picture?
the mens league (just doesn't look right typed out) is barely established and now "they" are tryting to fob off a womens league on America..?? good luck.
Pet peeve: The English national team is NEVER referred to as the EMNT and it pisses me off that so many posters referr to the USA as the USMNT....
Considering the relative lack of success the Men have had, and the amazing success the Women have had, they, at the very least, deserve to be recognized equally with the Men. What you are basically stating here is that the women don't deserve equal treatment. Well, hate to break it to you, Mike, but this isn't 1955.
And, for clarification, it isn't just BS posters that refer to them as the USMNT, US Soccer does it too.
I don't actually know what the term "fob off" means, but I think you are incorrect here. Only one of these Women's teams will have the same owner as the MLS club in the same city. The rest have independent ownership groups. They will share resources, venues and marketing with the MLS clubs, but that's it. I don't see how this endangers MLS in any way.....in fact it helps MLS reach out to a different demo completely.
For the record, I don't plan on attending any of these games, but I don't feel inclined to insult them either.
I suppose that BabyNats (U23) must really sends you flying...
So am I the only one who thinks that a Dallas Womens League team will get very little media coverage?
They'll get the same media coverage that FC Dallas gets from the local media.
In terms of local sports its (in this order):
1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Dallas Mavericks
3. Texas Rangers
4. Dallas Stars
5. SMU, TCU, North Texas, Texas-Arlington
6. High School Sports
7. Dallas Desperadoes (Arena Football)
8. FC Dallas
Unless NASCAR or the PGA Tour is in town, the local media is not covering it except to show highlights.
The Womens Team will get the same type of local media coverage that FC Dallas gets. Heck, when I watch the Sunday Night Sports shows here, there is hardly a mention of FC Dallas, except for highlights of the game that FC is playing.
There wasn't even a mention of this in the local media.
The women's league may not get much media coverage, but there are a lot of young girls that play the game in camps and leagues and for school and could be interested in their own team.
And let me throw this out - there isn't a whole lot to do out there in Frisco.
It's really boring over there.
Driving to Arlington for a Ranger game sucks, Mavs are over, Cowboys are over.
There's really nothing going on.
A women's league could be a winner, with realistic expectations.
