Tony Meola the first manager for Jax? http://www.empireofsoccer.com/legend-contention-jacksonville-22455/
I actually like it. It's a bit cheesy (kicking and saving a cannon ball), but I like that they adopted the Spanish style ships. Makes me excited for 2015!
I actually think the video is pretty cool. The Tampa Bay Bucs have a similar motif with the ships and movie score-style music and all, and it is exciting when you are in a stadium and amped up with the crowd. I kinda wonder what the "Progessive" in the slogan means. Does Rueben Askew's family own part of the team? Or are they going to field a team of only Alachua County resident-university professors? Maybe Flo will make an appearance at the inaugral game, like Pele did for the Cosmos last year? Now that would be cool.
Anyone an idea on who is going to be the first ever Armada player ? http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/3e...-first-player-signing-on-tuesday#.VEUy-bCG_X4
Armada sign first soccer player http://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/sports/armada-sign-first-soccer-player/nhpJb/ He's a damn good keeper. I think he's good enough to play in MLS.
JAX Armada FC making some Coaching moves... Even though it's an expansion they seem to be establishing a good foundation. I think they are going to be inline with Indy and Ottwa. Armada FC Add Messi's Mentor Hoyos, Three Assistants To Coaching Staff The Jacksonville Armada FC announced today the hiring of highly-experienced Argentinian coach Guillermo Hoyos to work alongside current head coach José Luis Villarreal. Hoyos holds an impressive pedigree as a soccer player and coach including coaching international soccer superstar Lionel Messi at FC Barcelona B. Hoyos and Villarreal, close friends who have previously worked together, will serve the Armada FC as co-head coaches, working together to guide the team both strategically and in player development as the team begins play in the 2015 North American Soccer League this spring. Together, Villarreal and Hoyos bring a combined 67 years of professional playing and coaching experience to Jacksonville. The Armada FC also announced that it is adding three experienced assistant coaches to its coaching staff: Colombian Edison Ibarra, Venezuelan Rafael Perez Niño and Argentinian Sebastian Fabres. http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/5b...ntor-hoyos-three-assistants-to-coaching-staff
A nice Q&A with the JAX Armada Supporters... Scarves Up: Section 904 The Jacksonville Armada FC are nearing their first-ever season in the NASL. Section 904 has and will be there to support the club through everything. NASL.com spoke to founding member Sebastian Cardona as he discussed adding smaller groups within the section, what it means for the city of Jacksonville and more. http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/12yrabsr795tx1mf694eex8nrv/scarves-up-section-904
Armada FC Ink Millien and Sierra The Jacksonville Armada FC announced Thursday the signing of veterans Pascal Millien and David Sierra ahead of the 2015 North American Soccer League (NASL) season. The additions of Millien and Sierra bring the Armada FC's official first team roster count to 14. Millien joins Jaime Castrillón, Marcos Flores, Lucas Rodriguez and Nico Zaldana at midfield while Sierra joins the goalkeeper mix with Miguel Gallardo. http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/9zab8qpioy2i18apsahn725sc/armada-fc-ink-millien-and-sierra
Wazzup BSF / USA / NASL members. Newest BSF member here. Jacksonville. Armada FC supporter (obvz). One preseason game under the belt. Delusional. We need an Armada FC forum on this board. No time like the present, amIrite? Keita's lovely goal in that Union match is on YouTube, >
Go here. http://forums.bigsoccer.com/forums/forum-requests-and-voting.666/ And see if you can start a thread about moving Jacksonville to NASL proper. Try to get @ChuckDzzNutz @JaxFC @Shopping Cart Man and others to post there.
@SoccerPrime, related question: If the high overseers of this site did not notice that there might be a call for a forum matching an, um, actual new team, is there another NASL message board set elsewhere on the web that is less, um, sleepy? #respekt
I feel your pain. Be patient, usually we aren't so bad as to not have it done by game day #1. There's always Twitter and facebook I guess.
The Armada's next home preseason game is February 28. Wouldn't be keen to attract the estimated 9k fans attending to talk about the game afterwards on this forum? In an actual NASL subfora like the other clubs have. Pull up NASL, and poof! there it is! C'mon, boys, we can do this!
a quick write up of yesterday preseason match against Jacksonville here in Charleston http://charlestonbattery.com/news/battery-sink-armada-1-0-on-savage-goal/
