I thought it was from a Seinfeld episode "Donna Chang" - Donna Changstein.

Also, Phil Salyer is singing with MLS? What song?

Sorry Buzz, have to pick. Great job as always, I love your work.

    This is interesting.

The 3rd Goalkeeper issue is still clouded. MLS is strongly suggesting each team carries a 3rd keeper. It's not clear what the Burn will do yet. My gut is saying they may go without one, as I have not seen another GK in a long time.

I don't doubt that the league is pushing the teams to carry 3 keeps, but the Burn don't appear to be alone in ignoring this suggestion.

As I write this, only 5 teams have 3 keepers on their books - Colorado (Garlick, Vallow, Foss), Columbus (Busch, Presthus Uechtlsey), Kansas City (Meola, Oshoniyi, Goode), New England (Brown, Reiss, Singer) and San Jose (Onstad, Conway, Saunders).

The other 4, besides Dallas, only have 2: LA (Hartman, Popik), DC (Rimando, Warren), Metros (Howard, Grafer) and Chicago (Thornton, Ring).

Now, some of them may add another GK though LA doesn't have any room on their roster and they're using all 6 Developmental Player spots.

If no 3rd keeper, I wonder what we're going to do with that last developmental spot?

    Holding it for Mariscalco?

Waiting to see if U-17s or U-20s go pro in the middle of the season?

p.s. Someone has created quite a stir over on the SJ Smurf boards about Carl Bussey being the answer to their prayers at right back, largely due to your awesome practice reports.

I think Carl has some upside... but right now he is a raw talent. Certainly not the answer to anyone's prayers right now... but someday maybe.

Wouldn't be a surprise, given his performance prior to his Achilles injury. It's also never been completely clear if the Burn have gotten a mulligan from the league on Jason Thompson, since he's listed as out for the entire season. Since developmental roster players don't count against the cap (and don't make much anyway), it doesn't seem unlikely that P40 players deemed to be injured for an entire season might be "redshirted" and still allow a team a full compliment of 6 active developmental players.

    No mulligan for JT...

THey could be holding it for Mike M. It would not surprise me as he showed more promise than any other candidates I have seen this preseason.
