Great stuff. Brings a whole new convoluted meaning to the phrase "standard broken English", and marks a new milestone for Babelfish. :D

Seriously, glad to hear that Leighton and Luichi are going well.

Former draft pick and guest player Lars Lyssand currently plays for the A-League team Syracuse Salty Dogs. I haven't checked the standings lately, but they were doing terrific. They might still be undefeated. I believe Lysannd has scored as a defender.

and original Clash coach Lawrie Calloway coaches the Salty Dogs (or Syracuse FC).

When I saw this thread, I thought it was about the note in World Soccer that Azizi has been suspended by the league in Iran. Azizi a hothead?

We should adopt this team as our "official" favorite A-League team...not just because they have Laurie and an SJSU man on the squad...but because they have a cocktail for a mascot!

Question: Does the homefield of the Syracuse Salty Dogs have a Hot Dog on a Stick?

I was perusing the website and found that local boy Shaun Tsakiris also plays for the Salty Dogs.

3-0 with the full 9 points from 3 games, getting over 9,000 fans in their home season opener, with two derby games against instant rivals Rochester coming up, I believe, this weekend.

A-ha! So that's where he ended up!

I saw him play for UCLA and he impressed, though I wondered if he was quick enough for MLS.

    His foot/technical skills were great.

Shaun's brother Tiki-- like me, another Cal State Hayward alum :D -- also posts on BigSoccer, ocassionally, and he's been around this board, too, if my foggy memory serves.

Perhaps Tiki can keep us in touch with Shaun's progress as the season goes on...
