Ten years since the soft opening at Toyota Park. Naming rights should have expired by now. I have heard Toyota has not renewed. Anyone hear what the new name will be?
If you have the cash it will be called anything you want. I hear a prominent local establishment is interested.
It should of expired after the 2015 season. So they either re-upped or Bridgeview can't afford to take all Toyota signage down.
Toyota display vehicles have been absent throughout 2016, so I presume Bridgeview won't spend the coin to remove the signage. Toyota won't complain about the free advertising.
Considering how bad we are, you'd think that Toyota would pay to take all the signage down. Not wanting there name associated with this shitty team and owner. I wonder who paid to paint over all the Quaker colors? Quaker corner (whatever it was called) and the players entrance.
Toyota's brand is very strong globally, I'm sure they don't give a shit about a small stadium in Bridgeview.
Serious answer to @ATAtraveler : I believe they'll go with TrueCar eventually as it's all over the players tunnel.
True Car is gone from the tunnel and the halftime guess the price game. http://www.chicago-fire.com/post/20...hicago-fire-unified-soccer-all-stars-practice
The one thing everyone is missing is that the Fire announcing asshole calls it Toyota Park. If Toyota was not paying anything for the "naming rights," Danhole Kelly would probably just say "Beautiful Chicago Fire Stadium." It is one thing to not take the sign down. It is something entirely different to continue to give Toyota the naming recognition. My suspicion is that the contract goes through the end of 2016 season or Toyota reupped for another year at a drastically reduced cost. Not that I would put it past Mr. Hauptman to go to the league and say something like, "Toyota is such a big league sponsor, but their naming contract ran out. We can keep it for another year, if you pay for it out of Toyota's league aponsorship."
I suspect the Toyota name is still on the facade because the lesser informed know the stadium by that name and the humiliation of calling it Bridgeview Stadium would be too much for Andell Holdings to bear. I doubt money has anything to do with it.
Were there any concerts at toyota this year? I know the b96 bash moved to tinley. Seemz that concerts have been decreasing over the past few years. Is this a city of bridgeview issue/fault or more with the Fire??
