Well we should be well up given all the possession. Fernando Torres had a golden chance to double the lead when Given came streaking out of his area (and handled the ball in the process.) Unfortunately his long low shot hit the post. Momo has been really poor again. He's snuffed out several attacks, but they were all Liverpool attacks. Mascherano should come on for him at half time. Kewell has looked pretty good considering it's his first start since Thatcher was in office.
2-0- Kuyt deflects a Gerrard corner past Given just after the start of the second half. This match looks well in hand, fortunately!
Kewell off for Babel. I would have thought Momo would be first to come off, but maybe Rafa feels this is truly in hand and is trying to build Momo's confidence up.

While Torres has missed a couple wide open chances today, I think he and Babel are proving that Rafa knows quality in the transfer market. What absolute class and skill those two have!
I just saw Reina! He punched away a Newcastle long ball! I was really beginning to wonder if we were playing with a keeper. The ball is certainly never down in that end of the pitch.....
Givven has made a couple of saves on El Nino, but he'll be disappointed should he not score. I cannot believe Newcastle have capitulated so easily. They look shell shocked and have since about 3 minutes into the match.
The Reds looks like a knife in butter. Cutting and slashing with pinpoint passes or maybe newcastle is just stuck in mud.
We really look fantastic with players healthy. I think this could be a special year if we can stay fit.
Riise on in the 76th minute. With both him and Sissoko on the pitch together, the Newcastle supporters are putting helmets on their head so as not to be injured by the many wild passes which will undoubtedly come......
What is it with Newcastle, every time they play Liverpool, their defence seems to just crumle entirely.
IMO...that was the best game we have played ALL season...they had nothing in attack and we had everything in attack...we absolutely dominated the midfield...even with Momo giving away a few balls...Gerrard and Kewell looked good just roaming around the pitch behind Torres/Kuyt...Kuyt scored which will hopefully help his previously battered confidence...Torres will certainly be happy with how many opportunities he got and he will prob be glad to get this type of game out of the way now (the one where he just cant score...unlucky, unfortunate)...Babel came on and scored as well which can only be a positive... ...even Riise managed to run at a defender, turn around 180 degrees then try to pass the ball in the opposite direction where he couldnt see and it went to a Newcastle player...he mustve been feeling sorry for them
