Give you lads something to talk about other than Momo and Crouch.

    -----------Reina
    Arbs-----JC----Sami ----Aurelio
    Babel ---Mash---SG-----Harry
    --------Torres--Veronin

    Martin
    Crouch
    Finnan
    JAR
    Lucas

I think Swagger will be back for this one. So, if Hyypia is exhausted from carvoting in far-flung bog patches again, I'd start Agger.

So Arbeloa keeps Finann out, eh? No quibble with Aurelio for Riise, either. Hope Kewell doesn't suffer a recurrence of something during the international week.

I like this lineup. It provides us with enough attacking options, especially considering that Newcastle's defense isn't that good. Hopefully Joey Barton doesn't pull something like he did against Sunderland.

    Is Itandje injured?

I'm all for playing the Voronin/Torres pairing, as Andriy's been in very good form as the supporting striker. I want to see these guys get a good 4-5 game run together and see what they can do.

Aurelio is clearly the better option to Riise and Arbeloa has been great in his overlapping runs down the right flank. I love Finnan but Arbs has earned more playing time. I just wish Yossi were healthy, as he and Arbeloa connect very well in the attack.

Swagger, if healthy, needs to play. Newcastle would be a good way to shake off any rust and I think Martins would give Sami fits (though he's been great the last couple of games).

The full three. Nothing less is acceptable.

all three points are attainable here. nando and andriy should be able to terrorize the newcastle back line.

And hopefully after the international break we can still keep the momentum going, we've been getting back from the last break...:)

Actually, AndSomeAreAngels is right-- Hyypia has been quite good of late. He got over the Porto, Everton and Besiktas debacles and has been doing his bit in bringing the ball out defence rather than hoof and hope. He'd deal with Viduka & co. easily enough.

As for the international break, Carragher, Torres, Arbeloa, Agger, and Aurelio will be staying over at Melwood. That is a big plus to savour.

A slight injury but is expected to be back on the bench for this match.

That is a big bonus. I might save my team sheet until a bit closer to the game, so I know who's in or out. ;)

I agree. We want to get at least one game out of him before he gets injured again playing Nigeria.

    I'd go with:
    --------------Reina----------------
    Arb's-----Carra-----Hyypia-----Fabio
    Gerrard---Sissoko--Masch----Kewell
    ----------Torres---Crouch----------

Although Voronin has impressed me, I still think a Crouch/Torres partnership up front is our best bet. Though I think Rafa will play Kuyt with Torres for this game.

Enough about the UK's immigration travails.

Swagger, and possibly Benayoun, likely to be available for the Magpies' game.

    A) Finnan's turn
    B) Crouch and Torres
    C) not Aurelio, Riise w/ Kewell
    D) Sissoko plays 20 minutes and if he doesn't give the ball away more than once, he stays on till he does
    E) all of the above are contingent on Agger in the lineup. if Agger cannot play, then this works

    -----------Reina
    Finnan-----JC----Hyypia ----Riise
    Babel ---Mash---SG-----Harry
    --------Torres--Voronin

    Here is my line-up

    ---------------Pepe------------

    Arboloa----Agger---Carra---Aurelio

    Babel-----Gerrard---Momo--Kewell

    ---------Torres-----Crouch-------

    Bench:
    Martin, Sami, Lucas, Kuyt ,Voronin

I don't see Javi playing since he has been traveling half way around the world. The likes of Aurleio, Arboloa and hope Agger will play because they are fresh. I have a feeling Kewell and Babel will play wide and switch a lot and I like th Crouch-Torres combo to get a run out.

    My predicted line up:

    _____________Pepe________________

    Finnan____Carra____Hyypia_____Aurelio

    Babel______SG_____Momo_______Riise

    __________Kuyt____Torres_________

Bench: Martin, Arbs, Lucas, Kewell, Crouch (if he plays well against England, if he doesnt then Voronin on bench)

Finnan - has everyone forgotten about our #1 RB...HES NOT INJURED
Agger - play him in the champions league as he will be kicked and hacked against Newcastle (not the best for a metatarsal)
Kewell - He wont start as he isnt match fit...he should start in the CL match against Porto
Kuyt - recently scored a goal for Dutch NT off the bench and should start as we need someone to work hard against this long kicking team

this lineup turns Gerrard into a playmaker, rather than an attacking player, i fear. Babel is more effective on the other side, and Riise doesn't normally switch.

'fraid so, this is McLarren's (Whatever) mistake as well, he plays a slow aimless Lampard in front of SG and it just doesn't work.

I'm sure everyone knows this already but...this week's match is the early fixture so 7:45 a.m. start on the East Coast. Rafa will be thrilled.

"Why do we have the possibilty to play a early away game after an International week and Manchester plays the next day? is it the coinsidense?"
