I've been waiting for some good news, I suppose. Somehow we're not in the bottom half after 10 matches. In fact, one more win could have put us in the group between 4th and 6th - say if we'd gotten the result we deserved vs Brighton. However, that would be ignoring how we've played in general. Our possession has been worse despite adding Tonali - it was 36% on Saturday. We're not scoring goals, and nobody is not scoring them more than Isak. And we couldn't score on corners or other set pieces if the goal were empty. We do not look like we're heading to Europe next year. I suppose I should be happier after beating Arsenal, who no doubt feel they're levels above us. Our goal was not allowed by a mistake. That perfect, first time cross would have scored on anyone. It was great, but it has to be a kicking off point if it's to mean anything for our squad or our progress as a club. Perhaps I should be more hopeful for being in the quarter-finals of the Carabao? Brentford at home seems a decent chance, but we'll need a new level to beat a guaranteed tough opponent after that? Hey, it wasn't that long ago where any of this success was much more rare, but it's frustrating to see this same squad playing below the level they have for the last couple of years. Anyway, two great wins. Howay the lads. Beat Forest!
