Well, I suppose he would be a step higher than what we normally have with the previous coaches, having being part of a successful club and partaken of other Strong European team (Austria). Definitely he could input some real technical knowhow with player development across the country and with the age groups. I like to think he is able to have a say with age group reps in the way he imagines high level football should be played across the country. Otherwise it is a long wait between internationals to just deal with oversea players. I think we need to move away from "head coach" model and look towards a "inclusive management structure" similar to the All Blacks. We need three or more local boot camps for the in-country top players and at least two regional boot camps in each of the NZF franchises for both players and coaches.
