Pep has been vocal in saying the Premier League title is more important than the UCL, so I would guess Ederson starts this weekend

It is possible to be both concerned about both Zack's playing time situation and also be concerned about the lack of depth in the pool. If anything, the latter makes me more concerned about the former because we don't have a single keeper in a top league playing regularly.

I have a real hard time believing that one. I for one don't think Ederson sits any league games until the title is wrapped and even then if they are still in the CL after next week, I would bet Eddy starts to keep him sharp. But I don't think he'd be playing simply because Pep values the League more. That's hogwash.

Maybe Mrs. Spector can work some voodoo and get Zach a CL start.

is she still working? I figured she was on vacation since Steffen got that run of 3 games in a row back in January.

I think Pep should choose his starting lineup for the next PSG match and sit those 11 for Crystal Palace, giving those players the full six days of rest.

    If v PSG

    Foden de Bruyne Mahrez

    Gundogan Rodri Silva

    Cancelo Diaz Stones Walker

    Ederson

    Then v Crystal Palace

    Sterling Aguero/Jesus Torres

    Zinchenko Fernandinho Doyle/Hodge/Me*

    Mendy Ake Laporte Garcia

    Steffen
    * Or maybe just choose one of the fitter U23 midfielders...

I'm just hoping Steffen gets at least one more. If he got two, i'd be over the moon!

Number 2 keepers don't play much outside of injury or if the no.1 loses form right? Or unless there's a new manager joining and trying to stamp their presence around.

Eight changes from the PSG lineup, but Ederson is playing, of course, not Steffen. The other two holdovers are Rodri and Cancelo, which makes me wonder if Zinchenko will start on Tuesday v PSG.

Here's the bench - not bad company.

Walker, Dias, Gundogan, Zinchenko, Steffen, de Bruyne, Silva, Mahrez, and Foden (with the ineligible Stones likely nearby).

Positive result for Steffen, as Man City move another step closer to clinching the Premier League title. Final score: Crystal Palace 0-2 Man City

    Remaining:

    May 4 - PSG
    May 8 - Chelsea
    May 14 - Newcastle - date changed
May 19 - Brighton - also new date
    May 23 - Everton - likely tune-up for Ederson
May 29 - Champions League Final

I think she's too busy getting Kepa additional STARTS in the league over Mendy. Boggles the mind. But then that's what Mrs. Spector does.

Just need one more win or a ManU loss to clinch.

Has Mendy been poor in recent matches or is Tuchel just trying to help Kepa look good before offloading them?

Well, I guess we can all stop wondering. Zinchenko is starting; Steffen is on the bench; Mbappe is injured but on the bench for PSG.

In the PL if they win the next league match they win the league regardless of Man U outcomes. Eddy will be playing the next league game. After that who knows, probably depends on the second half today.

45 minutes from a Champions League final. Yes, I'm aware he's not on the pitch, but still.

With this lead and the yellow cards piling up, Pep should put practically Steffen on as a field player. What De Bruyne is doing out there on a yellow is beyond me.

I guess at this point I'm just rooting for Ederson to like accidentally handle the ball outside of the box and pick up a red card in the last 5 minutes.

Bravo was not EPL quality at that point. The Marseille game, City was already qualified for the playoffs, and with 13/+9 they'd have to really mess up to lose the lead in the group to Porto (who played away) and their 10/+5.

He's injured and they can't afford to risk it by starting him in the game and re-aggravating his injury with the couple league games to go.
