The upgrade with his footwork and soccer ability is noticeable. He's really turned into a mini-Ederson. Anyone complaining that he doesn't deserve a shot with the USMNT is conveniently over looking this fact. Of the "big" keepers in our pool, he has the best feet... If you were playing futsal or 5-a-side, who do you want at the back? The answer is obviously Zack
The Steffen, Brooks, Richards combo does seem like it would be an especially good group for playing out of the back.

some news... Excited to have signed on with @mancity until 2025!The hard work continues 💙 pic.twitter.com/dyDDN7mTT4— Zack Steffen (@zacksteffen_) November 4, 2021
PSG is going to keep close, let's not get carried away. We're more likely to see Zack in action again in January, for the FA Cup, when they have to play the likes of Notts County or Stratford Town.
Hence the word might. Currently in Group E: 9 Man City (v PSG, @ RBL) 8 PSG (@ City, v Brugge) Man City is back in the driver's seat, with two games to go. If they beat PSG in Match 5, City will stretch their lead to four points, and City's Match 6 (@ RB Leipzig) won't matter. Zack Steffen, step right up! If City don't win Match 5, Match 6 will matter, and (presumably) Ederson will play, not Steffen.
I mean I’m sure Man City pays him more as a backup than he would get at as the starter at a lot of other top 5 league clubs.
"I think it's just the culture within the whole club... the drive to just get better each and every day" 💬We spoke with @zacksteffen_ about his contract renewal ✍️Download 👉 https://t.co/hquZ2SKLmB— Manchester City (@ManCity) November 4, 2021
Sigh.......Career backup for club and may be career backup for USMNT. No ambition. Bummer. Seriously, I don't mind the extension if there is a game plan in place. It's no secret that Man City are in a boatload of competitions. I would love to see Steffen as the guaranteed starter for domestic Cup competitions, get a league game every 4-5 matches and get an occasional CL match. It don't think that's unreasonable. I honestly think that should be the reward for signing an extension. Man City can survive without Ederson - as good as he is - for 20-22 matches a season. If Man City can't guarantee that - with WC looming next Fall - he needs to seek a loan.
Ha! I assume Cervi still lives in Denver. He is / was a big wig at an investment firm. I used to bump into him since our companies were in the same building. I also occasionally saw him on the pitch. I haven't see him since COVID began though. Really nice dude. We've had a couple of short chats about Celtic. Doubt he knows my name, probably just knows me as "Celtic dude."
How did Argentina and Chile respond to Sergio Romero and Claudio Bravo were cool being backup keepers at their clubs? Did it affect their NT spot at all? I def wonder.
Man City looking at Barcelona's Tar Stegen as a backup to Ederson ? Steffen to become third choice and/or loaned out ? (Not that Barca could afford Sterling as a trade option) https://www.espn.com/soccer/blog-tr...wap-raheem-sterling-for-marc-andre-ter-stegen
