Zack has some great view for very good games. So it's totally worth it.

    PSG 2-0 Man City

Not a good result for Steffen, as an early group-stage loss makes it unlikely that he will grab even the 6th CL game, @ RB Leipzig. [Playing the 5th CL game, v PSG, always seemed unlikely.]

Let's hope that Steffen is feeling okay after flying across the Atlantic - because he's in line for a start tomorrow and maybe a second one on Tuesday:

However Guardiola also confirmed that both Gabriel Jesus and Ederson would not be available to play against Burnley after featuring for Brazil in a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay in the early hours of Friday.

“They play in Brazil and cannot play (tomorrow),” the boss confirmed at his pre-match press conference.

“Maybe (they can play in the Champions League away to Club Brugge on Tuesday), I don’t know yet.

Got the win and a cleansheet.

Here's hoping he might get the start on Tuesday.

Zack made a great 1 v 1 stop in the 23rd minute. Only saw the "extended" highlights on Pisscock as they don't seem to have the replay available. And 18% of Pisscock's "extended" highlights consisted of the starting line-ups, 8% was of people clapping or looking dejected after the final whistle. What a waste

Zack Steffen (GK) – 6/10 - Replaced Ederson after the Brazilian’s exploits with Brazil on international duty and saved well when called upon.

Steffen must feel good to receive so many strongly positive reviews.

Expecting Ederson today, as City worked (fairly) around the Covid rules and had Ederson (and Jesus) fly directly from Brazil to Belgium to meet the team there. When they return from Belgium, they can plug right back in - no 10-day wait.

Yup it seems like all teams with players from red list countries with players in Champions League flew them all directly to that country so they’d be able to play,

There was interesting article in the Athletic this morning about how some teams in England have rented luxury RVs for the quarantining players and parked them at the training ground , so that they don’t need to worry about getting them from quarantine to training or games.

Finished 0-0 at 90', so straight to PKs ...

Steffen with a lot at stake, so here's hoping!

    And City are out. :(

Foden failed with the first one.

    West Ham converted all five.

Well he did keep a clean sheet so not such a bad performance in the end. The Wet Ham keeper didn't save any either as Foden's was a miss... Sad for Zack, but to be honest kind of glad City are out as they've dominated this competition so much lately. Time for another team to win the league cup. That's my feeling at least. Will be hoping Zack gets his hands on the coveted Champions League medal...

Not too worried about City, but Steffen's playing time has been severely trimmed - compared to last year's Cup, when he played the QF, SF and Final. Obviously, there are no guarantees, but getting knocked out in R16 hurts.

This is so true! He'll probably still get the last CL groupstage match and maybe a PL game around the holidays. If worst came to worst, maybe he'll ask for a loan in January.
