With all of that money you'd think that Man City would invest more in ergonomic benches to avoid issues like this...
Mum's the word. Goff reporting ... Steffen “has dealt with something like this before [last season], but it’s just something that crept up on him over the last couple days and he woke up [Wednesday] and his back was extremely tight,” Berhalter said. “It was really going to be really touch and go to see if he could play any part in the game and we thought it best to let him get rehab and try to make a run for Sunday potentially.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/09/01/christian-pulisic-zack-steffen-out-usmnt/
How are you doing down in Louisiana with the hurricane? Reports are that this one is actually worse than Katrina in terms of damage done to infrsatructure, esp. power lines.
I'm in BR (capital city) and not much damage, just downed power lines or tree branches. There was a hell of a rainstorm on Sunday but I'm all safe. My wifi went out for a few mins Sunday night. The coastline got wrecked. My buddy does dredging at the mouth of the Mississippi and he may be off work for several weeks. Real crazy.
Zack Steffen, who has two years left on his current contract at Man City is reportedly set to sign an improved four-year deal at the club. Pep Guardiola is a 'big fan' of the 26-year-old keeper. pic.twitter.com/HH981f3xYF— USMNT Only (@usmntonly) September 5, 2021
Apparently Steffen tested positive for COVID19: #NYCFC GK Sean Johnson added to #USMNT #WCQ roster after positive #COVID19 test by Steffen— Michael Lewis (@Soccerwriter) September 5, 2021
The keepers a keeper... What a difficult dilemma - winning team, storied coach, great coin... but never sure you'll get much game in the short term.
Zack is about to miss a golden opportunity as Ederson may be blocked from plying next weekend because City refused to release him to Brazil.
Pep Guardiola on Steffen: "He is in the US, isolating for the quarantine because he got positive (test). After 10-15 days and two PCRs (tests) he will be back."
Carson still on the bench today - no Steffen in sight. It will be a shame if Steffen misses Man City's opening EFL Cup game next Tuesday. Here's hoping ...
Any update on Steffen's situation? Man City host Wycombe tomorrow in an EFL Cup match, which should have marked Steffen's return to action but will likely now go to Scott Carson instead.
I'm speculating here, obviously, but Zack must not have been asymptomatic. His positive test was announced on the 5th. If he did the normal 10-day quarantine he should have been cleared, a la Pulisic, 10 days later. We're now 15 days removed from the day it was announced he was positive and he still hasn't resurfaced with his club. So, this seems like an instance where we should be more worried about the player's health than his playing time or national team availability.
Good to be back with the boys 👊🏾 pic.twitter.com/ty5J5CpclS— Zack Steffen (@zacksteffen_) September 20, 2021 He appears to be back at training with Man City. Though I’d be shocked if he plays in the Cup game.
Be shocked! Starting. Zack Steffen has recovered from COVID-19 and starts for Manchester City in the Carabao Cup. pic.twitter.com/V29lELwe4x— USMNT Otaku 🇺🇸 (@USMNTOtaku) September 21, 2021
