Don't really frequent the boards where this would be more applicable, but my god is Benzema a cold blooded killer. The man was born to score goals and rip the hearts out of opponents and their fans

I've always considered Suarez and Lewandowski to be the best strikers of their generation though Benzema seems to be giving both a run for their money.

 

It's amazing what two 30+ yo guys can do in a young man's game. I don't know if either Benz or Lewy have ever had a long term injury though. Neither is a speed merchant so maybe they are lucky to not have suffered those hamstring issues that the really fast guys seem to struggle with.

 

A howler today by the Inter Milan backup goalkeeper may cost them the title. Another example of backup goalkeepers making weird errors because of a lack of playing time.

I explained to my partner recently ahead of the quarterfinal with Chelsea that Benzema is the definition of a "sold his soul to the devil" type player. He is so unironically evil, and yet incredible to watch. Simply irresistible right now despite his age.

City will rue the day they failed to hold those two goal leads.

I don't think it was a meltdown at all. Manchester City is equal or superior to Real Madrid in talent, but the heart of Madrid is much, much larger. Manchester City should have scored more goals in both legs, but they just don't have the inner strength to do so. That's what the two legs came down to: mental strength vs weakness.

 

Real has won the Champions so many times, for them it's another day at the office.
