El Salvador will be thankful McBride's not there, otherwise, he would have spanked them again...Excited to see them finally play. Just curious, I though Gold Cup was every other year?? We jest had it last January. Is there another tournament besides Gold Cup he could be referring to?? Are dates set yet for Confederations Cup???

It's definitely the Gold Cup that he's talking about. I know they want to play it in the summer now, maybe they moved it to odd years so it won't conflict with the WC?

  7. I would be more afraid of Twellman than of McB and Joe Max, but that is just me...

The press is funny that way. They often think that players that have had success in the past against a team are more dangerous than others, even if recent form suggests it won't be true in the future.

ES has no way to counter McBride's height.

Against certain defenses, ES for example, air power is the way the break them down. Against other defenses, you have to use the ground troops.

Speaking about McBride, in all the discussions on BS post-WC, I don't remember anyone mentioning how well McBride got his revenge against Mexico for the blow to his eye in Columbus!

Twellman is going to have to a score in a big game before anyone is afraid of him. Nice hustling, but he was rarely dangerous. He didn't step up during the MLS Cup either. Don't get me wrong, I expect him to do well, but he still has to prove himself at a higher level. McBride has proven to be a solid international player.
