I was looking through some old email when I found this "strongly worded letter" that I sent after the WC final to the editors of the newest edition to the NYC press: the New York Sun, a conservative rag. It was early in the morning when I wrote it so I might not have been terribly attentive but I hope all my facts are straight. The article was laughable, as you can see:

Yes, it was so bad we can excoriate the Sun all year long and forever. No reason I posted it now. Just thought a few readers might get a kick out of it. I wasn't a bigsoccer member during the WC.
The only thing that could be considered a response from them was when they printed an article (which I regrettably don't have) to the effect that soccer is dumb sport anyhow and that the US is the one country in the world were the Men's National Team is less well known than the Women's. Astonishingly, I heard the local ESPN radio (1050 AM) commentator take them to task for the second article—he also said the paper was a rag...
