Well why not? Lets get everyone on the boat. Metrostars implies Metropolitan area - which implies tri-state area. The original name should've been NY/NJ/CT Metrostars. The New York Red Bulls of New Jersey and Conneticut seems justified and it will keep everybody happy. Just think of the Los Angeles Angels of Anehim. Who cares if it makes a joke out of the fans - the politicians will be happy and New Jersey can make up for its Nets' move to Brooklyn. And we're trying to get Americans to take soccer seriously? Right. Vitamin Water Miami vs. Poland Spring Los Angeles in the NBA Finals. Woohoo.
Of course not! But no mod appears willing to waste the necessary amount of time to merge all these threads!
Well, they've already merged a whole bunch of threads. We can only hope that they'll get to this one eventually.
It sounds awful. The "Metropolitan area" can always be described as "Greater New York". RED BULL F.C. of New York
at one tailgate, i remember meeting a guy from philly. let's be sure not to insult him either. NORTH EASTERN RED BULL
I happened to check NJ colonial history and found out that NJ was originally part of "New York". I do not know how that influences "Red Bull NY", but it is interesting to note. http://www.usahistory.info/colonies/New-Jersey.html "After a long season of confusion it was decided to surrender the whole colony to the Crown, and in 1702 New Jersey became a royal province. Queen Anne, who was now the reigning monarch, extended the jurisdiction of New York's governor over New Jersey, and this arrangement continued for thirty-six years, when in 1738, the two colonies were finally separated."
I thinking about this new Red Bull name and I just realized something more important than anything else in the entire history of the MLS!!! According to Judaism, a Red Bull is a sign that the messiah is coming. People have been searching the globe for signs of a red bull for centuries. Well there search can finally stop as the sign is right here, in front of tends of thousands of humiliated fans. http://www.cfga.force9.co.uk/TeleRH.htm
