Game is on MSG... I don't think we have beaten Colorado at their place in a long, long time. Time to change that. The Baby Bulls hammered them 3-0 in late May in the USOC so hopefully that will lead to go things for the Red Bulls! Houston had to come from behind to tie 2-2 Colorado at home last night. Both teams were rusty. Here is a recap of that game: http://www.mlsnet.com/matchcenter-recap/rusty-houston-and-colorado-begin-their-post-break-runs-draw and here is a recap of the Red Bulls game vs KC: http://www.mlsnet.com/matchcenter-recap/red-bulls-get-back-business-3-0-defeat-wizards The Bulls won their 3 game on the road this season. Wow! Thanks Red Bulls for the win last night...you picked me up after the USA crashed out at the World Cup yesterday!
After the US loss, club soccer couldn't get going again fast enough. Even having to wait 4 hours felt too long. Thank god MLS is back.
I second that. I've been looking forward to MLS' return since they left. Had a group over for the day - barbecue, kids in the pool, good drinks with good friends who stayed all day because that was the plan (US match, cookout and fun, RBNY match). A great day that ended on the right note. Now let's take care of business in Commerce City!!!
+1! I was fighting fatigue during the 1st half but the BUlls recharged me during their terrific 2nd half!
Caught the Sounders match at Dick's Memorial Day weekend and the place is very nice. Good atmosphere, great fans. Loads of 'em gave my kids grief for wearing Red Bulls gear. Ran into Balboa and barely held back a "thanks for the minute" comment. Marvell looked good on the right. Casey is always dangerous (he chipped Keller for the 1-0 win) and still can't believe he wasn't in South Africa. That night he crushed us at Giants Stadium was probably the worst night a visiting striker's ever inflicted upon us. But we're Backe's Viking Army now, come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow. We're road warriors, and a win on the 4th is the only fireworks I need to see!
We just need to outscore them. I don't think we'll keep a clean sheet, but I'd like to see us start getting multiple goals on the road more often. It makes me smile.

as long as we don't beat them by more than 1 goal, because anything after the game winner doesn't matter anyway, right metz?
Actually I think Baldomero should be called the Maniacal Clown...(no offense to the nice guy who posts here)
The Crew has opened up a six point lead on RBNY, so this is an important match, and the team really needs to grab 3 points. Having said that I can't stop thinking about next Saturday's game vs. DC. I hope the team is more focused on Denver than I am.
I was disapointed Toledo was't chosen to ref the World Cup but fellow CONCACAF ref Chiqui- Dracula was. What does Chiqui-Dracula have that Toledo doesn't? The only difference I can see is that Chiqui-Dracula refs in the Mexican league. Discrimination!!! =p =)
Hey, ...some body hear something about the lineup for tonight?...And wake up people, lest move this thread....Talk about Angel or any freaking bull shit you can, but say something....
I'll take you up on it. I'm hoping for the same lineup as last week. [LINEUP-4-4-2]Salou, Angel, Ubi, Lindpere, Stammler, Tchani, Borman, Ream, Mendes, Albright, BounaTime[/LINEUP-4-4-2] I wouldn't mind seeing Richards as a sub, but we have been successful without him, he's been almost nothing but frustrating, and Lord and Coach Backe willing, he won't start now. However, Tchani did end up playing 60 minutes or so in Harrisburg, because of extra-time. Dane might start. Mendes and Albright are helping to get our back line in order. If we can score early, or keep them from scoring early, so we aren't chasing the game at altitude, and if the break truly did Angel some good, and he has got more life in those legs (I said that just for you, metz! ), I think we can get out of the Dick with a draw, and 4 points from two road games after the break would be a good way to come out of the break.
I like your line-up... I am pretty sure Dane is still injured.... Time to win again on the 4th of July... It is actually pretty cool in Denver with the Temp at 77 going down in to the 60s after dark with some T-storms...that may dampen the fireworks during and after the game for Colo.
Backe banking on newfound defensive shape http://www.mlsnet.com/news/article/backe-banking-newfound-defensive-shape Looks like Dane is healthy and will play.
Re: Backe banking on newfound defensive shape I will tell you, for must I dislike players like Richards that have none sense of futbul at all, the speed is a basic factor And Tchani, Sinisa or Stambler have not and I think that Backe will go for that....
Re: Backe banking on newfound defensive shape I think Backe has earned our trust thus far. We've already won more than we did last year and Hans has shown a desire to sort out his his young players. Having said that, you can't teach speed. It's god given. Hans may want to show he's healthy so he can deal him ahead of his July 15th pickups. People will always pay for speed.
