Alright everyone, lets get creative. What is your New Years wish for Detroit soccer? How about what you think will/think should happen in the next decade for Detroit soccer?? Lets hear it.

I'm saying USL in two years with MLS coming close after it, maybe MLS in 5 years? A dream come true would be a stadium right downtown, maybe if the Wings move to a new Stadium in Illitch-town, the Joe Louis site could be converted into a SSS! We can dream right?

If the Wings move out of the Joe, it will be to expand Cobo, so I doubt that space would be available.

Ford Auditorium in Hart Plaza. Tear it down (as people have wanted to do for 20 years now), put the stadium there.

Maybe the creation of another sportsplex in Foxtown with the new Joe and a soccer stadium right next to it. It would make for a great downtown with 4 stadiums closeby to each other.

Yeah thats a possibility too...I've heard the thoughts about tearing down Ford Auditorium, I like that. I would love for a stadium to be downtown either on the River or in Foxtown with a view to the skyline.

I would love something similar to what Columbus has. The Arena district in downtown Cbus is great. Get a SSS along with some bars, etc. That would be great.

Not to mention that if Detroit eventually moved to creating a mass transit system, it would be great to have the stadiums near each other...it would encourage people in the northern and western suburbs to come down and with the arena district that you mentioned, encourage them to stay and hang out in the city, alleviating traffic and parking congestion, and increasing business to bars, restaurants and the casinos.

That makes way too much sense to ever have happen in the city of Detroit.
