Well, I could have told them that Paddy's wouldn't work. On the weekend it just isn't the environment for a watch party. I would think someone in the FO would have been there before and would have known that. I get the feeling they just went around offering a sales pitch and put the game in any bar that would take them. Because the decision to use Paddy's, while a good idea since Lees Summit is a growing area, was a bad one from the beginning. I also got the email that Robert posted about only three locations this week. They want this information in our hands, we (BigSoccer) are obviously the driving force behind who they want to get to these watch parties.
Looks like I will definately be at 810 Zone. Trying to talk the wife into making it a family thing, selling the point that if she doesn't want to stay around she only has to go across the parking lot to go shopping instead.
Looks like I'll be at the 810 Zone then. Save a seat for me guys. I'll be the big out of shape white guy. Which one of the other five people were you? But anyway, it looks like the LS Paddy O's aren't an option, any more, at all.
Beth and I will be at the 810 Zone. I'll be the other big out of shape white guy...the other other white meat.
I thought 210 SW Greewich Drive was over in Kansas for some reason. It's the 150 hiway local. My bad.
Few more of us and we'll have a six pack. I guess thats why we are soccer fans and not players, at least not anymore.
i guess Aces and 8's doesn't want our busniess. i just got a email from the brigade that they are have a watch party there also. +Come watch the Brigade take on Tampa Bay this Saturday! Where: Aces & 8's Sports Bar When: Saturday, April 29th, 6:30 PM KC Brigade vs. Tampa Bay Storm. Specifics: Drink and food specials, Brigade players and cheerleaders singing autographs from 6:30 to 8:30.
From what I've seen posted in here (having never been there myself) I'm guessing Aces and 8's clientele is more in line with arena pointyball than "The Beautiful Game" anyway.
A quick phone call to Aces and Eights confirmed that. Paraphrased conversation..... Me: I heard a rumor that you were hosting a Brigade watch party on Saturday night. A8 Employee: (Cheerfully) Yep! Me: What about the Wizards Watch Party Network? I thought you guys had a previous obligation to show that..... A8E: (Befuddled) I don't know about that, but we are hosting the Brigade event!
Way to get these committed places to show the game FO. Keep these at one place, or possibly two at most (one for Kansas, one for missouri), and you might be able to keep the 6 or 7 people that actually show up to these outliers never to be heard from again.
from what i can tell should you really be putting yourself in that situation....i think i mean come on mark vs that entire bar, they dont stand a chance
Question: Are all of these watch parties at bars? Trying to find some place where we can take our ten year old daughter with us to catch the game.
Essentially yes. They are all bars. I'd recommend O'Quigleys though. Its got a completely separate non-smoking section.
