Who Donovan means is anyone's guess, but I would say that Donovan, Mathis, and O'Brien have a specific level of talent (pure skills), aside from their varied speed, quick thought, aggression, etc., which separate them; perhaps Reyna also belongs there. There are other players who have better value at specific parts of games, of course, and one could argue that our two most talented players are keepers, but I'd say that those four have a demonstrated skill level that is beyond what any other US player has shown.

So, Adu scored both of the goals for the U-17's in a 2-1 win over the Fire? I know it's pre-season, but still, you have to think that the Fire don't want to be shown up by a bunch of teenagers, particulary a 13 year old. Impressive stuff from Freddy, yet again.
I heard that after the game he turned the gatorade into wine. And then he drank it. Which proves that he is not 13 years old as they all would like us to believe.
i agree with wahl that pablo may be, if not a 1/2 step, then a 1/4 step slower than a fit armas at d-mid, though i do think he's a tad, if not more than a tad, better at going forward. either way, am hoping armas fully recovers. donovan's expression with his lady says it all. what does "cleetus" mean anyway? and where did that nickname come from? if he only decided to rededicate himself to soccer while blithering drunk on a hawaiian beach on new year's, then it explains why he still has a ways to go in terms of at least looking to be in shape. it's only been a month!!
