More good news for the US women, following in the footsteps of the U20's who took third place after losing to eventual champion North Korea (beating Germany in penalties), the US U17's defeated England over the weekend 3-0 in a comprehensive performance (from what I was able to see) to take Bronze, while the team that defeated them, North Korea, won the Final (on Pens over Spain). This was the women's U17's best performance in a youth tournament since the inaugural U17 WC of 2008. Very good news for the womens team, I know I'm reaching here, but man, the Seniors, U20's, and U17's all produced their best performances in more than a decade since Crocker, and Emma arrived (well, in the senior case, its the best peformance since the back to back titles in '15 and '19). really good news, our keeper won the golden gloves award for the tourney too. They looked great in this run. Exciting times again for the US women. The England team they defeated were runners up to Spain in U17 Championship for UEFA, and lost to Spain in the Semifinals of this tournament again.
