I’m sorry but the lack of creativity sucks. Whoever works on designing these should not have a job come Monday.
agree on the home white. But totally disagree on the away. It very well could end up being my favorite USMNT shirt ever. I love it. Hope they match it up with red shorts, gonna look great on the pitch and on TV too.
I wouldn’t go with the complete 1994 look, but a special throwback based on the 1994 denim would be fun for a friendly or two. Nike probably would have to skirt around some copyright issues to make them look “different enough” from the 1994 kits since those are Adidas. But I’d honestly prefer Nike spend its time actually putting effort into the white kit. The kit, once again, is just boring and unimaginative. The change kit looks really good. I’m excited to see that one on the field.
IMO these are both a big step up from what they're currently wearing, and have worn the last few kit cycles. Similarly, neither of these strike me as "instant classics." The home whites are what they are. There's always going to be a subset of the fanbase who thinks they're boring. There's also going to be a subset who crave "an identifiable look." It's worth noting that, since the birth of Nations League in addition to Gold Cup, the overwhelming majority of our matches are within CONCACAF. Most teams in CONCACAF that we regularly play (Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Panama, Costa Rica, T&T, El Salvador) don't wear white as a primary kit--and some not at all. Exceptions are Guatemala and Honduras. This does allow the US to wear their "primary" kit pretty much all the time. Not saying I agree with this strategy, per se, but part of being an identifiable look, is heavy repetition. Also, remains to be seen what font they go with for the numbers and player names. I feel like the boxy block lettering and numbering they've used lately has been beyond generic, so hopefully they do something to spice that up, and it may influence the overall impression of the kits.
Weird design on the whites. And it looks like the fabric is paper-thin. The last ones--with the "Stay Puft Marshmallow Man" design--was better, but that's not saying much. The "secondary" shirt reminds me of the Grateful Dead logo. Piggy-backing on the "tie-dye" jerseys worn at the 2022 WC. Still really disappointed they're insisting on using royal blue and not navy blue.
I crave an identifiable look. It just doesn't have to be boring and unimaginative. Our identifiable look doesn't have to be a white t-shirt with a little bit of trim.
while better than full templates, nikes big idea of bespoke collars is pretty funny. the stripes portion is going to look awful pink, i imagine, and its odd there arent starts on the blue part in these leaks. but all white (hopefully with navy shorts occasionally) is fine. the material looks a lot like crepe paper. i like the aways more than i have the last few for sure, though i still think the blue is a little light. a full true navy kit shows too dark, but this "old royal" is just a little bright imo. the full kit could go either way though, depending on shorts/sock color. all red would be too much; the problem with the bomb pops (and potentially here depending on how much red is involved overall) was that- in addition to the lighter blue- they look like russia kits. maybe blue shorts and then socks with a similar blue/white/red as the kits? but i think the aways are among the best weve had in a while to wear as a fan. thatd look good with jeans, khakis, etc. eta: i looked back and apparently there were never stars involved on the collar.
Anyone have some bleach for my eyes? What do we call these? The Regression Residuals? The Cyberbombs? The Cyberattack? Are they even notable enough to get a name?
I always thought the blue in the "bomb pop" kit was too light. Needed to be darker and richer like the blue in out flag. The new jersey is maybe a little darker. But I don't like the white, angled seismograph reading.
