Keeping in mind the stitching template will almost certainly be different, I dig this idea, but then again, I've always been a fan of the single vert stripe look (probably the only time I'm a fan of asymmetry, really).
To me, this is not a bad thing--HEY NIKE COULD WE GET SOME COLLARS UP IN THIS PIECE. Also, it may or may not be a good thing that the rumored redesign looks like the one from Everyone's Favorite Awful Soccer Movie.
I thought Sly Stallone aquitted himself pretty well in that game, maybe Bruce should give him a look.
From now on I'll translate all my posts in this thread into German so you can understand them better. Ab jetz ich werde alle meine Posts in diesem Gewinde auf Deutsch übersetzen, also kannst du sie besser verstehen.
I'm sick of our boring (try to be like every one else) jerseys. Those big star jerseys in 1994 were my favorites. Nike better come up with something fancy. We need more shock & awe!. I don't want the traditional soccer style uniforms.
I remember when those came out. I was playing high school soccer, and the MLS immediately became a joke to my team.
Sorry to bltleo and whomever else I confused and upset by posting this thread on the wrong board. I didn't think it belonged in "Travel" because I didn't see how it pertained to travel so I figured it would be "news".... Guess I was wrong. Either way, I didn't think this thread would last that long. I figured somebody would say, "I heard the new jersey will be out X and it's really cool!" and that would be it. Little did I know I would create a monster. I don't even read it anymore except to flip to the end, realize I don't know what anyone is talking about anymore and say, "I can't believe this many people are still talking about this!" (Not to belittle anyone, I'm still interested in what our next uniform will be, but I'm definitely no longer in the loop as far as this thread is concerned.)
I think that after the 1994 World Cup, FIFA has been trying to mandate a solid color on the front -- which somehow does not explain Croatia's checkerboard or Moldova's green mountains. All this started when they disallowed Jorge Campos' wild shirts, then you don't see the sublimated patterns anymore (Germany 1990, Holland 1994, DC United 1997). I am guessing that the Blackburn Rovers jerseys (half blue, half white) are also not FIFA compliant.
