According to 1020 a.m. here in Los Angeles:

Nike will unveil the new Tri kit in Mexico City on April 22nd at the Monumento Revolucion. The other choice was the pyramids but they decided to stay within the city.

It is planned be a gala event. The players will each be given 4 packs with 18 kits each.

The next day on the 23rd they will be made available for purchase to the general public. Only 5 thousand kits will be released for sale this 1 st day. (it was commented on the show that 5 thousand kits was a very small number being made available for Mexico).

The kits should run about $55 (US) for the original and about $20 (US) for the replicas.

The Tri will wear the new kits for the 1st time in their match against Brazil.

They commentators had mentioned that Nike did not want to release the kits any earlier out of fear that the piratas would be made available outside of the Azteca on game day.

On a side note, they mention that all Euro based players are getting 1st class airfare courtesy of Nike which will run approximately $15 thousand (US). They also mention that the match is taking place thanks to Nike and not the FMF, but that is probably more fitting for the Mexico v Brazil thread.

My fingers are crossed in hopes of getting a decent looking kit, not some cookie cutter Nike kit.

    No.

Those have just been fillers until the new kits were ready. If Nike would have announced that those kits were their final product, I think people would have been up in arms.

I wish they would have stuck with Atletica or even signed with Addidas...but not Nike.

Oh well only 11 more days till either

    :) or :(

I agree! Nike uses the same template for all the jerseys, the only major difference is the nation's colors. Hopefully they will do something special with Mexico's jersey.

So has anyone heard what these kits look like? My cousin said that supposedly they are using the same designs ManU is using, but he is not very reliable, so Ill believe it til I see them.

I feared the worst and by God, Nike didn't let me down. I'd take the interim jerseys over this BS, at least those were different.

Damn You Mexicans, you should be happy to be able to experience Nike's Cool Motion and Dri Fit Technology. Not only can you sport a Tri Color jersey with the latest advancements but also be dresssed in the height of fashion.

    :) :)
