Here is a better one I just found tonight on the Philly MLS website. http://philadelphia_mls.tripod.com/ The Philadelphia Phalanx. A Phalanx, for those who don't know, is a formation of infantry soldiers who defended themselves with shields on all sides and protruding spears and swords, in ancient Greece. Alliterative, appropriate, and intelligent-sounding! Also the logo could be extremely cool, with a Greek infantry division, swords drawn and shields in position. MUCH better than Philadelphia Union FC or whatever euro wannabees are pushing for. I only wish I could take credit for the Phalanx suggestion, but alas I cannot.
Scythe?? Phalanx?? FURY??? What, do you work for Nike? Do what the Revolution and the Patriots did. Keep it similar. Keep the brand name's together. Philadelphia Talons
I'm sure Jeff Lurie would want something like that, and actually it's not bad. But only if he steps up as an owner. I am sure though, that fans of 610 WIP ( the sports talk station) and readers of the Daily News would have no idea what it means or how to pronounce it. Just like Phalanx, I suppose...
So were you asking whether the whole group works for Nike? you are speaking two languages I don't understand: french and collectivist.
DAMMNIT!! I wish I was a BS Member (alas, no cash), because that, right there, would be my signature. French and Collectivist. Although, to be fair, my lineage has been in Quebec since the 1600's, so really, I should say "French-Canadian" or "Quebecois" and Collectivist. Either way, I'm down wit' it.
On the poll that mlsnet.com had about what the new SLC's team name should be it had Salt Lake City Saints. That is the best one I've heard so far. I dunno what the significance of it is though, haha
