You've got three options. 23 people voted for something other than the top three in the original poll, so with those votes we should be able to get a majority for one of the choices.
    I'm giving this three weeks.

I voted for Lamar Likes Us Best. Just because it's making fun of other people, i.e. Columbus and Dallas.

    and because it's true

Folks the Lamar line is not so true. He's building stadiums for his other two teams; not ours. Additionally, anyone local that knows the donut chain here would take one look at our crowds waistlines and say "Aint that the truth".

Although the hanging fish/beer poncho are great stories in and of themselves (depending on how you look at them), they're specific to one team and one (albeit higher profile) group of 200+(?) supporters in a crowd of 15,000 who sit in the corner of the WORLDS LARGEST SOCCER SPECIFIC STADIUM.

Based on this I had to go with the World's Largest SSS. It encompasses everything including BigSoccer wit that for some reason is the mainstay of most taglines in the MLS Team Forums.

maybe he's just using those teams as 'projects.' there's always mistakes to be made when venturing out on new concepts. he's just saving the best for last, when he'll know what not to do... for his favorite club!

does the name "lamar" remind anyone else of the gas station commercials in the '80s where at the end of the commerical some guy would say, "a'int that right, Lamar?" and some dog (dalmation I think) would bark. I smashed the *#*#*#*# out of my finger today so I am testing out the analgesic that has been around for 3000 years.....

    Absentee Ballot

I had to vote for the "Hanging Fish" one. Roush has been kinda busy from what I've heard, so I'm making sure his say gets........said. :)

Besides, he'd die if he missed this vote.

    This is absurd...

44 votes and its a dead heat. Give me a break! Just like last time, how the hell are we ever going to choose one?
    I'm open for options, really.

    It's only partly a joke.

If you had grown up in Kansas City, you'd understand the "Cult of Lamar".

Look at his history with sports organizations and you find someone who understands the long-term view. You see someone who sees a 20k seat stadium as limiting. Crew Stadium -had- to be built because the team had nowhere else to play in 1999.

But Arrowhead Stadium isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Hunt sees 60k fans at Gillette for MLS Cup 2002, he visited all 20 World Cup stadiums in Korea/Japan and saw the crowds - he sees the Wizards - maybe not filling all 80,000 seats - but growing beyond the 20-25k that the current generation of SSS are at.

The Wizards have doubled their attendance in the last five years. If they double it in the next five we're talking about an average of 30k and median around 25-28k.

I'm not suggesting the Wizards will double their attendance in the next five years, but as anyone who has grown up in KC in the last 40 or so years will tell you, it is hard to bet against Lamar Hunt.

So, yeah, it is a joke. It's a realization that Carson, Frisco, Crew Stadium, Bridgeview are in progress and that Cleveland, Harrison, DC/Baltimore, Denver, and even Edmond are promised or coming - But that the Wizards are looking at Arrowhead for the long term. It is our Soccer Specific Stadium.

LOL... I hoped, and hoped, and hoped, but we're doomed to never changing the tagline. These polls always end up tied.

Here's my idea, just say screw it... As of Saturday night, voting closed. Top two advance to the finals. The finals are determined by the superbowl winner. For example. The Pats are favored, so the top vote getter is the pats, and the #2 vote getter is the Panthers. The winner is the tagline till determined otherwise.

Hell, if anything it will make a mutt of a game at least somewhat interesting.
