just wondering what people thought about the new german national team away kits. for the first time germany will be wearing red jerseys, thanks in part to coach klinsmann. i'm not too keen on them, as i don't associate the idea of "germany" or "german soccer" with the color red -- black, grey and white seem better. that and i'm not a big fan of the current adidas templates regardless of which team is wearing them. at any rate, here's a link so you can check them out for yourselves:

It is disgusting! We look like SPAIN now!!

I am not sure whether this red one is the new home or away jersey.

I agree with your sentiment somewhat and it will take some time to get used to, but I don't think it is too horrible. At least it is a solid design, and not weird stripes all over the place.

    1) I hate it that everything is ruled by marketing reasons. Why couldn't we just stick to the classic green? We won a World Cup semifinal this way. And why couldn't we return to green now?

    2) To quote "11 FREUNDE": "Which country do we eerily look like now? Oh yeah, AUSTRIA! Of all countries... well, of course they definitely got all trophies in the world in the last 20 years with those red shirts... ;)"

    3) And I don't get why we play in Leipzig and use our AWAY shirts... Isn't Leipzig in Germany anymore? >_<

    So much for rambling.

    BUT:

    1) It is not the first time, though... Historians found out that Germany had red away shirts at least twice, in 1930 and 1938 (vs. England).

    2) It's better than the black ones we had right now... Why would you want to draw bad luck by wearing black? Is this a funeral or what? Oh, I forgot...we had those first for the 0-3 against France in 2003...so, YES, it WAS a funeral.

Don't wear black, that brings bad luck!

To make it clear: This is the AWAY Jersey. I don't like it, because we look like everyone else in it... Besides, the old black jersey looked extremely cool.

I'd like black/black for away, and black/white for home. Something intimidating and arse-kicking--although we haven't been that for about 10 years now. I'll pick Darth Vader over some sissy Red any time. There's a reason why there's a great team out there called the All-Blacks. I want to play like Huth: no fear.

What does "blaming" mean in German? Something good or bad?

    I strongly disagree.

    Black was really disgusting.

And playing without fear is definitely a matter of the mind. That's possible in red shirts too.
