New Stadium for Esteghlal

"PLDC - A new stadium will soon be built for Esteghlal of Tehran beside Eram Park. The club will be a complex of cultural, artistic and sports activities. Ronald Koch, head coach of Esteghlal commented on the events surrounding the opening ceremony of the stadium in about ten days, “In the first phase of its construction the pool, sauna, administrative and club management building will be built within the next ten months along with suitable, internationally acceptable grass pitches. The grass pitch of the complex will be ready in less than four month’s time.”

“The second phase will begin with the construction of the badminton court, restaurant, dormitories, large supermarket, body building gym and spectator stands. The final stage of the complex will consist of the building of open-air and indoor cinemas and a professional automobile racing track.”

Koch also requested that the officials pay more attention to the base teams in order to strengthen club football in Iran."

 

I have not seen any rendering on it yet, even though me and some other EsEs fans are hunting for it like crazy.

I really dont know if it will be a football only stadium. Esteghlal is a multi-sport and cultural club. We have the best team in futsal, a good team in Freestyle Wrestling and some other sports. Even our womens indoor team is not bad .

But just by reading the statement by Ronald Koch (former assistant coach of Leverkusen): “The second phase will begin with the construction of the badminton court, restaurant, dormitories, large supermarket, body building gym and spectator stands. Holy $h*t its gonna be loaded. So no, I dont think itll be a football only stadium...
