I don't know what hurts more the season we are having or the fact that MLS is now forcing our team to stay at the Galaxative sh!thole. This is just plain out sad.
Lets be positive guys. A good rebranding & big player signings would change everything. Look at Sporting Kansas City. Remember there are plenty of people waiting for an alternative MLS team to support instead of the galaxy. Look at what Shawn Hunter did for the us before Guadalajara cronies destroyed the club. Who knows maybe the new ownership group won't want to play at the SHC next season. As of now unfortunately this club doesn't have a new ownership. Hopefully someone is serious on buying Chivas USA & keeping it in LA.
The problem is that the chances of a temporary stadium being ready for next season are diminishing the more the sale is delayed. The sale probably comes with the string attached of having a bulletproof stadium plan, which won't be easy at all in central LA. Yes, it will insure that the buyer is really serious and really wealthy. But it will also be a more public and time consuming process, of which we haven't heard anything of recently. What's really worrisome to me is the branding. If this team doesn't get sold before next season; is there going to be a placeholder branding next season until the team is really sold? This team will then have 3 identities in 3 years, making it harder for the general public to follow the transition between the already vague presence of a 2nd LA team into a 2nd LA team that means business.
