On 22 February 2008, the French Football Federation announced that they were ending their partnership with Adidas and signing with the American manufacturer Nike, effective 1 January 2011. The unprecedented deal is valued at €320 million over seven years (2011–2018) making France's blue shirt the most expensive ever in the history of football. Nike to Adidas: Is this a bad time? Adidas to Nike: No, you're just in time. Personally, I am not happy with this move. I prefer Adidas over Nike (For Football/Soccer). I wish the US would change to adidas.
judging by the crap they're going to make OL wear next year i'd say adidas has bigger problems than the EdF.
I can't wait , Adidas has been making terrible jerseys for the NT for 3 years . Though the current away one is very nice .
I wasn't aware OL switched to Adidas. I just saw the kit and I think the home one is great but the away is....no words to describe it. The home had a diagonal stripe in Red/Blue and the away was some multi color 70's retro thing. If this is true of course. Adidas has far better accessories, clothing line, and options in its line up then Nike does. Let us not forget Nike's stint with horrible kits as well. In 2002, they made the same shirt for everyone it seemed and that lasted up until the 2005 area. The template was changed very little for each team but for the most part, much the same. I don't like the new Tech Fit jerseys forsure, specially the French version but I will admitt the US Nike, both home and away are one of the best so far, with exception to the 2006 year. That was a great year for both Nike and Adidas. When it comes to equiptment and shirts, I still choose Adidas over Nike!
my longstanding prejudice has been that if money had the swoosh on it i'd take a vow of poverty, but adidas has seriously started getting up my nostrils as well. the techfit is one thing (luckily it's optional, note not every player wears it) OL's new kits (especially the away: i still have hopes that what's presented as the 3rd is only a keeper jersey) are almost the last straw. i say almost because there are still the boots... how many 53 year olds get a pair of kaizers on fathers' day? i was speechless. my kids really do love me!
