    ain't it funky now...?

You remember that old children's song from the sea...?

Late one night, when we were all in bed
Old Lady O'Leary left the lantern in the shed
And when the cow kicked it over
She winked her eye and said
"It'll be a hot time in the old town tonight!"
    FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!

    :)

How about working in something like "For those about the rock, we SALUTE YOU!"? I think it would be great if Section 8 said something to that effect about the Fire,a dn we everybody stood up and saluted the Fire. Any ideas?

I was gonna suggest this. Glad someone already did. This would be perfect for Naperville, because all the kids in the stands would be able to join in without having to learn it. It also is well suited to a loop, and is about the history from 1871.

Please try this on Sept. 7.

I don't know if there is any real significance to this, but that is the song the Western Michigan Band plays after a Bronco touchdown.

    I also think it's worth a try.

    I found it!!!!!!!!!

Guys, I know you may have forgotten by now but, I found that song I was talking about in the 1st post. (Sorry it took me so long!) It's called Fire- by the Ohio Players. I think it was popular in the 70's or 80's. Anyone heard of it? If so, do ya think it will work?

We love you fire isn't hard. It's just cloying and dumb.

In college, fans used to sing the score to the tune of amazing grace, when we were ahead, as a way of rubbing in the fact we were winning. You just repeat the score over and over for each lyric. Simple and sweet.

    New Chant Idea

Hey! This is where being a cheerleader helps out a lot! I'll post new ones as I think of them...

C-H-I-C-A-G-O (clap clap clap) F-I-R-E Here we go!

And then you can repeat as many times as wanted...

NONONONONONONONO! That was not what I was saying. I think since Section 8 likes simple chants, you are a wealth of knowledge.

Are you going to UCLA or USC?

    NO!!!

    Go Go Go!

    (clap)

    CHI-CA-GO!

    (clap clap clap)

OK, here's where being a complete not cheerleader becomes a complete embarrassment.

True. Still, I don't see anything totally wrong with it.

Yeah. I guess as long as people get involved (not just SECTION 8) it can work.

USC!!! I'll work on some simpler chants...By the way, I'm 20 minutes from the Rose Bowl (Galaxy's Home) so if the Fire ever come out here just let me know and I can working on getting tickets and whatnot...

This may be really great or really sucky but I thinkk the other fans can get involved in this one...

How about something involving Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire.

Also, I think Sect. 8 should have floaters that go to other parts of the stadium and teach the chants...

    to ressurect an old thread...

if anyone has heard "ready to die" (or get ready to die, i'm not sure) by andrew WK....any or all of that song would be a great chant.
